We have done lots of different things in the S3s in the past. Some worked and some didnt. We have used no GPS in the past but only to a limited extent. Basically the idea of a return to a limited no GPS and grey icon colour for dots is to create a bit more confusion of the big picture during a frame. With our lower numbers we are going to have to limit the area of operations more during each series so there is the required density of players in an area of operations. With smaller operational areas it should be easier to navigate by visual cues, especially in the new terrains, and also harder to avoid contact due to the smaller area. With laser accurate RDF and GPS location devices it is very difficult to sneak around or bounce someone or get lost momentarily, all of which play a major part of the stories we all grew up on and read still.

With a new code change it is also impossible to tell if AI are human dots or critter dots. This again helps immersion and makes AI appear as part of the simulation. So expect to see ships and transport planes as a limited set of routines in most events.

Previously we had to use higher buff tuff to give the bomber pilots a reasonable chance of reaching targets. Now with the capability of jumping to your wingmen we can have all bombers AI or human with the same toughness of 1.0. They will be scored the same now. Some changes in damage modelling and weapons modelling will help the relative toughness of bombers as before at a 1.0 setting they seemed a bit brittle.

Keep the questions coming and I will revise the rules this Sunday and repost with squad forum passwords emailed out.

Salute!

The orginal intention of the damage modeling for buffs was designed to be at 1 for default MA play and still leave room for upping the tuff to say 1.25 or some such as an easier way to compensate from one arena to another without a lot of work in rewriting several files.

I read there was a change to the HUD so you can't us it to tell you where you are using the Grid system. I hope the rest of the HUD works as the dials on the dashboard do not work.

SPINDZ added an arena command to turn off HUD grid references. It doesn't affect the HUD in any other way.

You can see it in action in Operation Lost.

Working on it.

Ships are your primary target both static and moving AI.
General BDA scores points but not like precision targets like parked a/c, tanks and ships.

Will have it up today. Still figuring out how I can score it from the S6.

Adjusted the Japanese penalty plane to the L2D. Thanks to the Model guys for getting this into the latest update for uss.
