Updated map for Frame 5 and point summary to Frame 4(missing frame 4 static ship kills, a/c loss of all types and pilot losses - reported in the S6).

Frame 4 saw a repeat of the axis strike juggernaut that rolled up airfields starting in the SE corner and ended all the way up in the NW with the final closing of F91 near the end of the frame. Axis Ju88s and strafing fighters shutdown two GAFs and three landing strips denying any use in the south by allied aircraft. Later the large axis fighter force moved to the NW around Palermo and took on the heavy allied escorts protecting the small liberator group that struck targets in the region. Allied forces again combined to close the difficult supply depot in the Western Palermo region(F56) as well as a LS and town in the same area. Excellent escort tactics allowed minimal losses to the bombers with only one player B24D begin shot down. Small groups of allied strike a/c took out the important bridges and cleanup on the harder targets during the night. At the end several smart high-level fights took place between evenly matched Spit IX and Bf109G6 groups. This was the first frame where fighter vs fighter kills was relatively even - 21 Allied fighters were claimed to 19 Axis reported shot down.

The complete loss of airfields in the south of Sicily has hampered any drive by the British 8th Army. Only Patton's 7th Army continues to get air support and Axis ground forces have been severely limited by attacks on their supply lines. The front line has moved in the NW but remained stagnant in the south. All of Palermo province is now in allied hands.

Final frame is for allied redemption. Axis lead in points is too much to regain.

Have fun in the final frame of the 2014-2015 season.

Salute!

That map looks pretty accurate to me for FR5, looks like a stalled out invasion.
Sorry Muskie-san, couldn't resist. :)
