Welcome ALL!!!!

So, the biggest hill to climb here is the fact that the other side knows all our technical details.

What we have found so far,
#1 - The TBD sucks at torpedo runs. We have to be too slow and way too low to drop torps.

#2 - The TBD is a decent level bomber with the static ships being so easy to take down with 100lb bombs but we need close cover. very close escort. Last frame we sunk just about everything around F20.

#3 - OK, sorry guys, but when you see one dot on dar at the end of last frame, someone should have launched and killed me. The F6F is murder on the ships! one short burst from the MG's took down ANY static ship. I did 2 passes and killed 5 or 6 ships. I would have killed more but was running out of fuel and ships to shoot.

#4 - The fuel ratio is a killer for our planes. The F6F must up with drop tanks or you only have about 45min. in the air.

#5 - The Nomads are not running as a separate squad but are instead embedding into the UMM and the Knights. (correct me if I am wrong Gums sir)

#6 - The F6F kicks butt up high.

This all being said, The 23rd, 4th and 352nd also know these things.

I believe they will be looking for the TBD's at 12K OR looking for SBD's coming in high (something different). Since Hawk took my idea for frame 2 :D I would like to do something even more different this frame.

Every squad EXCEPT the UMM can fly the F6F. I want to put all squads in the F6F, the UMM in the SBD upping from 32. We will have to plan the timing and which squads will cover what. We have time to work that all out.

So, for our new fighter squads I have some questions:
1 - how long will it take you to get to 30K?
2 - How long will you be able to fly?
3 - what squads are used to working with what squads. This will be our biggest challenge. The 3 IJ squads are big squads. We need to compete with them.
4 - What squads like to attack ships? (besides TK :D )

Help please!

Well, I got PK'd last frame by the first shot of a TBD AI gunner. What crap......

Muskie - the 10 vertical line is their radar coverage. They see all of you once you hit that line.

I would pick a ship / target rich area you wish to hit and put everything into that area. The F6F dominates
every aspect of this match - alt, speed, guns, armor - everything.

Bring in your strike as you did frame 2 behind the fighter sweep. Let the fighters camp over an area and
clear it. Bring in your TBD bombers. Exit together.

Just do what you just did - all the zekes were dead early on. And F6F's are killer vs static ships.

have fun

We tried the low game and still got are asses kicked, wouldn't be surprised if they tried shooting for the moon, completely off Dar and hit us when we get fat and happy.

If firepower is an issue for going after large targets, I had a thought about employing the "droop snoop" concept. Heavy F6Fs fly formation with the a Norden equipped airplane, drop when lead drops at altitude. Requires a fair bit of precision though. Its just as easy to shmear the zeros over Truk and have strike groups come in after.

Hopefully weather doesn't cut our numbers significantly like last frame.

We should have the bombers drink coffee in the ready room until 50% of the enemy force is dead. No reason to launch early.

Just to make sure that we are on the same page. Nomads, UMM and Knights fly the SBD or TBD. Knights have bombers and fighter guys. Only their fighter guys fly fighters, bomber guys fly bombers. Its what they signed up for. The USN has to have some disadvantages and covering TBDs and SBDs is one.
