Sunday event arena.
fighters log in on regular WB and buffers/tankers log in on the buff/gv event arena heading.
Both wind up in same arena.
New FM's are enabled
New airplanes enabled
HQ's are 3 and 34 ( they labeled on map HQ)
Taking the HQ wins the war.
This is a further test with some different settings.....
Enemy defensive routine will show up ( hopefully) DURING the attack, and not after fixed objects are destroyed. However, they will continue to respawn as long as any fixed objects are up. They cease AFTER fixed objects are destroyed, and last gv destroyed at which point the field will go contested and is capturable by either side.
distance between fields for forward deployment is approx. 12 to 13 mile.
Spawn distance away from an enemy field will be approx. 1 to 2 mile.
Destruction of a fields fixed objects will deny forward deployment FROM that field so you may be able to achieve a forward deployment while also denying the same for enemy.
Air assets are then able to greatly assist the ground war by striking fields an enemy may try to attack from and denying them forward deployment with GV's.
Also their job is to deny the air to the enemy who is attempting the same.
This is tactical warfare that can lead to Ultimate victory, capturing the HQ ...or.....
Strategic war is to ..go deep, heavy bombers and destroy the enemies HQ, while also denying the same to the enemy. This can be difficult as no forward deployments are deep ( beyond 12 miles of nearest friendly field) and trooping it, as once its contested, it can be recaptured by the enemy.
Here is some short you tube vids that may assit with learning how to transfer command from gv to gv or bomber to bomber

Good luck and thank you for participating

On a side note concerning actual use during an s3. The game play can work exactly the same without enabling any gv's for humans as the General can run the ground war with attacks and defensive routines, capture/recapture routines all by itself although the human driven air assets can still influence the results of a General run ground war quite a bit.
Another interesting feature that has been done in the past is that a human driven fighter can take buff drones with them, and escort their own buff force, transferring their command to the buff when its bombing time. Not sure how well that might work out with everyone keeping their drones in the same formation for the Big one to Berlin but......its worth mentioning that it can be done. It also means they could stay in the buff keeping formation THEN switch to escort when time arrives but then the same problem exists, keeping 10 guys or more in one formation when everyone switches to escort......just an interesting feature that can be done......might be OK for MA play, not sure how it would work out for S3 play.
The system is set up so that the number of drones can be a variable, from zero to 3 drones, we just running 2 drones ATM but it can be varied.
I'm also very tempted to try this event out for a true s3 test by not enabling human driven gv's just to try it out and see how the autogroundwar works and how airpower can influence it without human gv's.
Also a reminder to the buffers. After you pick your drones, remember you have to set bombload out for EACH drone, it just don't copy the loadout you choose for lead vehicle.
The event arena is open for practice.

Game play also showed how the ground war can affect the air war and vice versa.
Thanks to all involved in setting this up.

Problems lasted about 7 minutes.... arena crashed, rapidly recovered and 8 minutes later it was a go. My only advice would have been to lock it so people wouldn't have been kicked out when they entered and it wasn't alive yet....but oh well..still had 40+ in there.

Good job on Spindz part of getting it back up fast!

Twas a good time....

Ya, I was really looking forward to it but only had a 45 min window to play. Next time I hope it all goes off without a hitch.
