I'll be honest.....I would rather hit F4 first. Being bait early in frames has not served us well over the years. F4 would take another 10 or so minutes to get to.

Permission granted sir, take it down.....orders have been modified reversing the strike order

A well planned frame sir. Is there any particular reason to use the low alt strike-fighter P-40F (4th FG has ~0 hours flight time in it) to go toe to toe with the axis fighters instead of the Spitfire IXe? If we are to dive away from the Axis the P-40F is a good airplane though, great dive speed. Don't know yet how it holds up if we are to come back and furball once the 475th is in.

Be careful all as the Macchi C.205's are nearly as fast as Mustangs.

Thanks Robert. The P40 is not a very good bombing platform from my experience and I simply want to get them out of the way clearing the best choice (Spitfire Ix) for the rest of the frames. 30+ experten in P40's is a buzzsaw that I wouldn't want to fly a macchi thru imho :)

Of course, you can use the Spitfire if you wish but like the commercial....you might pay for it later

The 4th will follow your plan down to the A/C - trying to see the big picture here but reserve the right to a last minute decision as "big picture" , solidifies in the gray matter and Robert has a valid point of concern :)

One thing that should help is that the invasion fleet will have lots of DDs to cover the freighters so if you get low between Malta and Sicily look for the moving ships there. DDs will also be stationed off the invasion beaches to help with cover there. If the strikes or heavy fighters need targets later in the frame there are static ships(grey ship icons) at 3 and 10 in the north and 191 and 96 in the south which score points and can be strafed down. Axis AI shipping will be coming into 10 from the NE as well.

AAA at Malta is epic so any inbound Axis a\c will be highlighted with many flak bursts.

Just one question, if the Axis just works on the invasion beach head and doesn't come our way what are we going to do? The Jabo guys will be low so that is a good spot for the P40's.

Also, what TAC channel will the Fighters use and what TAC will the bombers be on?

Inquiring minds want to know ;)

I will work a contingency plan for a strike option for the P40s IF the axis wont come out of their Dar coverage. The primary goal here however is to be patient and let frustration work in our favor
