Gums I agree with Muskiez here. Makes more sense for UMM to hit 5 than 2. NS and RCAF can cover 2 and provide a bit of overflow if needed for 5.

I have a question for the fighter squads. Did Jabo allow the F4Fs to operate freely from land bases after they first launch from a CV?

Dew,

Not sure anyone answered your question. Yes, after launching from the U.S. carrier Wildcats can operate from any field.

Where is the link for the aircraft table? The website hasn't been updated.

5. Squad Aircraft - each squad may fly any of the aircraft listed for them in the A/C table. Only one type per frame though. In Frames 2 and 4 the P36C will be available from only Wheeler Field. The squad that initially starts there may choose to fly the P36C or the P40B. No plane switching once you launch in an a/c type.

6. Squad Basing - IJN may use any of their CVs to land and take off from. US may only base 1 squad at each airfield to start, after which they may rebase anywhere. US may only launch their a/c in Frame 1 [3] after one ground object has been destroyed. ...they may choose to launch from their CVs instead, but only with F4F3s.

352 Cents Dept.
Your replacement fighter pilots would appear to be assigned to Squadrons flying the A6M2.

Hawk are you going to assign specific radars to specific fighter groups so they can plan accordingly? I think that would be best so they can have pairs perched over them at T+39 ready to strike at +40.

I also think it wise to have a specific player on the buffer calling out T times right up until the strike minute. You know they will be monitoring the strike channel waiting for the first announcement to roll.

Dew, to you guys have an accurate observation on what it takes to kill the emitter in the S3 Arena? I have always been skeptical of the damage model transferring from the S3 Arena to others. Using our Kaga practice file, with "saved" S3 settings, I was able to take out an emitter in one guns pass with a A6M2. I suspect "real" S3 conditions will vary.

Yes.. I will do more tonight. We had a lightening strike last night and it took out my NIC card, TWC cable and internet modem and killed our TV. Catching up on things now.

Dewolf Sir,
lets just say, even I can take an emitter down in one pass with 50% of the cannons! I usually can only strafe ships. The bombs are not needed for the DAR. For most things, that I have been able to tell, are actually softer in the S3 than the offline models.

Also, download the t33a.dtf file I posted. it has a small circle and a cross right through the emitter (+/- .5'). They are a bugger to see.

Remember, the Truck will not go down! It is the tower. Only shoot the emitter tower.

Wolf........in frame 2 farout and I attacked the emitter at 23. While Muskie is right in they can be strafed I prefer to drop bombs first than strafe. At 23 both of our drops were very close and I was surprised when the emitter did not blow. However by dropping the bombs first we used up far fewer cannon rounds killing it saving them for later use. Remember to tell your pilots there is no real hurry and stagger their first bomb passes and make them count (close as possible) even if the emitter does no go down. They should be perched and ready when the first ground target is hit by a bomber, then they can be cleared in for the emitter.
