Great job on your first series UMM. I am afraid I will be trying to take you out in the next series, we usually end up German in those series. Watch out for a HO by a 190A4 ;)

Thanks Beaver San! ~S~

We hopefully have good fighter cover and a bomber trick or two up our sleeves to avoid or make them HOs hard to achieve :-)

I would like to add that I was impressed by your first series, UMM and NFZ! Very well planed, flown and communicated.

I look forward to the events in which you are Axis. That said...if I read Jabo's post correctly, we are about to launch into a 'Bombers into Germany' series, for which I think UMM will be Allied. I will toast to you when I don my Black Tanned Leather Chaps and sit calmly in Luftwaffe briefings to bring you down.

Horrido!

Thanks Sakai San ~S~ Your support and encouragement are much appreciated.

The ability to act does not make that action correct. You are right that there is nothing to stop anyone from using these tools, except for the decision of the squads involved and each individual's integrity.

I am not trying to say whats right or wrong. This was brought up 2 years ago and I dont remember what the final decision was on using the scripts.
The question comes down to should we know things that we wouldn't know if we didn't use scripts. Someone more important than me should decide the rule.

That settles it then! This is not in the category of "Things we wouldn't know" because Jabo has always obliged when people ask him what keeps a particular field open.

I may have not flown as many frames as most of you have but this was not my first series flying the S3 either and seldom has there been a frame where someone or the other has not asked jabo what remains at a field.

I don't ever recall him not responding!

Previously Whawk developed a script that showed radar circles which disappeared when the radar was destroyed. I believe this was determined to be outside the spirit of a WW2 era flight sim/game.

It is my understanding that a map overlay is the extent of scripts to be used.... as is often the case, I may be mistaken, so I would just like to know what would be proper conduct for future events.

WW2 Pushed so many technological boundaries, with everybody trying to get an "edge"
It shows good ingenuity to develop a script.

The only thing I would say is that ch112 (info channel) is deliberately disabled in the S3.
So your script may be perceived as in contradiction to that.

Jabo does say whats left on occasion - but only when folks are really struggling to find the elusive remaining target(s)
At least that's my limited impression.

I have been watching with great interest and I think some are missing some important points. First, 112 displays on both countries, therefore it lets the other side where the buffs are hitting. The script doesn't do that. Second, a lot of the new terrains are hard to see from 20k or 25k and this allows us to see what targets were missed. It does not show the location and I agree, this would be wrong. Still many times we have had to send our escorts down to get a BDA assessment of what is still up. I remember a long time ago we had talks about even if we should use DTF files.
