I think there needs to be an S3-TV. Just think, during the week leading up to an S3 event, the S3TV reporter interviews the Opposing frame CO's for the upcoming frames, and each gives their take on what they think will be critical to their success in the upcoming match up. Squad CO's would be asked about what training they are doing with players x, y, and z to help them be ready for their roles in the upcoming match up. Between interviews, there would be segments highlighting the pros/cons of each aircraft that will be involved. How the pilots of one aircraft will need to fly in order to utilize the strengths of their aircraft against the weakness of the opposing aircraft. What kind of fight they hope to engage in, and what they might be able to do to get opponent to play into their hands. Those who manage to make "ace in a frame" could give a video AARs recounting how they met with their success, who their wingman was and the role that they played. Color commentary could be focused on which side has the ugliest aircraft and explain why. Of course, a 30 minute segment on the historic importance of the particular air campaign would be most appropriate.

Give the S3 a college football type of atmosphere leading up to the event night.

Ahhhh... we can dream can't we?

Unfortunately a couple of things:

Graphics: When War Thunder, newer IL-2, and upcoming DCS WWII... Warbirds looks like N64. I think WB has the best online set up and the goods to keep people. It just doesn't sell itself. AND all the stand ins and incomplete stuff doesn't help.

Money: No one wants to spend money when there are free options, no matter how "good" one is over the other. WB needs a free to play account, limited options but competitive enough to keep players in the door.

Numbers are coming up...slowly.

Talk to your old buds who use to play...get them to come back some. Share some vids onto their timelines if ya got em on FB.

Treat new guys with some courtesy...offer to help. Hell, the learning curve in here now is even steeper since we have such a solid core of strong pilots flying...I can't imagine for the first time coming into this game and flying into the teeth of one of the squad "blenders":)

There has to be in investment in infrastructure to "update" the game....graphics, code, support of new technology, etc... not sure if or when that will happen.
But who knows...stranger things have happened:)

Youtube..

Nothing torques me off more than to have one of my vids pop up with an advert for Warthunder pop up to watch:)

Thrustmaster site.... Saitek Site...hmmm...lets see..

Free DVD with purchase of joystick/throttle or Free download and 2 months free (or as someone suggested maybe free XX hours for those who have a life and do something other than hang out with other cyber-pilot geeks in their free time.)

Still need a "newbie squad" setup so they get put in with ='s and have some additional help when they start or at least be able to talk.

My 12 almost 13 year old son tried the game briefly. His feedback...too long to get into a fight. For us old guys, we understand getting alt, getting the advantage, picking and choosing our fights...The Call of Duty crowd doesn't understand the 10 minute climb to alt mentality.

Guys,

Love the videos and the comments.

Can we move some of this to the WarBirds Facebook pages?

This is a very internal discussion (on the S3 forums) that could be used to bring us more targets/players in the S3s.

If we could get all the players to post to the facebook page all their comments, videos, and suggestions I think we could double the play in WarBirds which would be good for all.

https://www.facebook.com/WarbirdsTotalSims

Can you copy some of these great videos to our Facebook page?

And we posted -hawk- AAR to the Facebook page and we reached over 2200 potential players. We need lots more of that!

Thanks in advance.

We need to put the "10-min Climb to Alt" into perspective with the COD crowd.

Having only played a WWII version of CoD about 6 years ago, things may have changed...but I recall having to wander through the map to a position of advantage. Stress that and then the 10 min to alt should be no prob.

...

Of course...we cant even get all of our own to lift from a rear field for altitude...much less a n00di3.

Ni Yen.

Thx for vids guys.
Zin, I was the first la5 you fueled at the beginning. (nice bounce btw)
Was able to regroup and get back into the action then after a bit I tangled with a group of 190s who finished me.
Good fun. Great battle over 213
