JG51 flying with LF6 was tasked with defending the northern area and the action was intermittent. We had several engagements, the first of which was with a group of escorted B17s. We took out 3 of the B17s and one escort but the escorts kept us tied up enough that we weren't able to get to the B17s again. Subsequent engagements were with scattered smaller groups.
