Frame 1, Allies will be based at Guadalcanal. Specific orders will be posted as to week by week mission goals. In keeping with the battle of Solomon's history, by frame 5 allies should be fighting to take Bougainville.

Some fields have been removed. We are using only airfields that were in theatre during the Solomon Islands battle time frame. For instance F6 was constructed in late 1944 once the allies took Bougainville and is therefore not available. We've also removed towns as they are not relevant to the S3 game play. We have kept historic airfields, ports and coastwatchers. Scores for specific targets and plane set will be posted early this week.

Dar will be short at 10 miles for this series. Each side (planning still underway) should have 3 Carriers with support group (you only have 3 for the series...once sunk, they are gone for the rest of the series). There will also be cruiser/destroyer groups operating in theatre as well as some supply shipping. Expect to see naval battles going on below you. There will also be side missions going on as well... This one will be action packed!

ALLIES - Frame 1-2
Special rules:
* The Allies must commit 30-50% of their pilots to fly as the USN each frame. The USN pilots must operate from CV's, using only USN assigned airplanes. Individual USN pilots can emergency refuel at land bases but squads should operate from their CV while it's still afloat.
* 50-70% of the Allied pilots must fly as the USAAF, operating from land bases with USAAF assigned airplanes. If emergency landing on a CV, the pilot loses that USAAF fighter for the frame, but not his life and can fly an SBD-5 or TBF-1 from that CV instead. He can fly to a land base and change plane, but the SBD or TBF is now part of his inventory instead of the lost plane.

He can fly to a land base and change plane, but the D3A or B5N is now part of his inventory instead of the lost plane.

* Blacksheep squadron VMA-214: The Allies can choose up to 12 pilots per frame from the USAAF to fly as Gregory "Pappy" Boyington's Blacksheep squadron. These pilots must operate from their assigned base for as long as it's not closed. Individual pilots of VMA-214 may only rearm at other fields or CV's when in an emergency, like leaking oil or fuel. The rest of the USAAF pilots, not chosen for the VMA-214, fly their normal rides as per the USAAF list below.
