Gents:
Until Jabo's BDA comes out, the below graphic is a guess as to what our radar coverage may be like. The white lines with arrows are proposed patrol areas for our fighters.

The preliminary thought is to use a combination of N1K1 and J2M fighters. The N1-K1 likely has a better chance as a bomber buster. The enemy are scheduled to have similar aircraft available and the J2Ms might have a slightly improved chance there, and they can still do damage to the buffs.'
The general idea would be for our fighters to sweep on southerly headings for the incoming bad guys, BUT to remain within our radar coverage so that proper vectors for bomber intercept could be established. The N1K1 fighters would be the first to engage, with the J2M flight kept in relative reserve. If the N1K1s can reduce the Allied fighter escort force reasonably, the J2M flight should have the opportunity to engage both enemy buffs and remaining fighters at slightly reduced altitudes.

No reason to mess with something that seems to work. All Squads should be familiar with any idiosyncrasies by now. (Thank you Mr. Beaver)

I suspect that we should consider the possibility that the P-51 could make an early appearance like the B-24 did in Frame 2.

It would be interesting to know if any of our Groups actually plan on flying the J2M in Frame 3.

Thoughts and observations are solicited.

Expect a separate ORDERS thread subsequent to our various Squads' observations

AIs will be either B24Js or TBFs. Both are very easy to down. Its only escort and their otto that stops you from slicing through an entire formation. The George feasted on Lib guts last frame. TBFs or B25Js as player aircraft suck if you get them near the groundwater so dont expect them to go NOE with these. Last frame half their drones got stuck on the mountain side and made juice lick his lips.

Feedback on the new wings on the IJ aircraft would be appreciated. Little of the rest of the IJ flight models have been touched for 2017 other than the new wings for all aircraft.

The converse is also the case. IF you can get a B-24, its "Otto" is, likely, also going to get you. Currently, they really don't need escorts.

The first word that comes to mind is FRAGILE. Push over on a N1-K1 and kiss your wings goodbye. Our Group lost several pilots to wing departure during the Frame.

I do think only the shape was changed on all the aircraft. I think all the aircraft wings were backwards, but I could be confused.
Strength etc I believe has not be touched for individual aircraft but maybe a global setting is affecting them.

I will post the issue in the forum so when they have time to look at the George.

A slight pull up after diving to put out a fire tore to right wing off at 465 mph. I was only pulling 1G or less. :(

Ask Weis,I think he last his wing both frames. :(

Jabo,
A little more info.
Jlord reported his wings came off at 234 mph indicated and pulling -6Gs.
Oskar guesses he was going too fast.
So, if the wings are breaking at -6.8 Gs are they too fragile?

Returning to our previous program....

Observations by our IJ COs and flight planners are solicited. It would be pleasant to publish Final Orders by Friday. Thanks.

~S~ Okami-san!

We will get back to you today or early tomorrow with our thoughts. I will be on tonight (late-ish) to stretch out the J2M.

I don't see any issues with the setup...its worked well for us (with apologies to RCAF/8 for their high losses).

I am surprised at how the Allies are NOT coming in with higher fighter cover.

Guys, no apologies needed for our poor performance, we moved to the east hopping to find tubbies but ended up mixing it it up high Hellcats, when the call came in for the buffs we vectored to them but we overshot the 24s and ended up making numerous 6 attacks (not wise against 24s), flamed engines, bad attempts at ditching in the ocean, and pilot errors were the norm for us.
The George handled well on our end, do not remember any wings falling off due to over stress or speed in dives as reasons we lost the airframe.

J2M will be utilized as well as well as the NIK1 next frame for us. We have much time in the Japanese aircraft (for a RCAF squad) and are somewhat used to their squirreliness.

<S> to Juggo for frame Two CO duties and looking forward to following dewolf into the flames of hell..... or in worst case at least another glass of scotch..

I think feedback on the P47D, P51D and F6F5 is the most valid since they were adjusted prior to this series by the new FM group of 2017.
The remaining aircraft on this series just had their wings reversed to correct an error in the code.

Wings falling off easily may or may not have something to do with this reverse, I dont know much about the workings of the FMs.
But it is always worth reporting so someone like Robert can double-check it with his excellent flight testing.

Trying to promote an S3 feedback on the FMs. This didnt happen previously and without it the MA feedback may appear lopsided.
