A lost P-40 pilot flying alone at about 10,000 feet last night, straight and level with the pilot asleep at the stick?

I thought it would be a good idea to go watch the end of the SEAHAWKS/patriots game while on auto at 10K feet ingressing from a far rear field, with the intent of coming back in a few minutes to see if I could scare up any action at the end of the frame. The game got so good I completely forgot about my lonely P-40 and when I finally remembered I scrambled back to find myself over heavy ack East of Tobruk. Thank you for having mercy on the lost P-40 and not blowing me out of the sky. ;)

I watched the end of the game too; very exciting. But if I had seen you up there in the sky, I'm pretty sure I would have shot you down. I'm getting fewer and fewer kills in my old age. :)

Yes we saw it. Some figured it was a lost greenhorn that was white knuckling it; looking for his friends. Others thought that someone lost a bet.

Either way, thanks for clearing that up for us.
