What sort of guarantee the allied fighters won't fly above 30,000 ft? Granted our a/c are better suited in the 20,000ft range (way too low compared to any RL testing source).Bombers will be under because they simply won't see anything, but you know the 352nd and 23rd will take every altitude advantage they can get, even if it is 40,000ft.

You can count on them being up there. They may have some close escort provided by the 4th and Doolittle fighters but the 23rd and 352nd will be well above waiting to pounce.

My understanding of the rules is the 30k feet limit only applies to the buffs, or only affects the buffs because of the cloud layer. As for me, I intend to be at cavitation altitude unless my assigned mission requires otherwise.

There is no alt limit for this series. The heavy clouds at 30,000' will keep the bombers below that for the drop, but you can bet the B24's will climb after they drop, even if it is only to hide in the cloud layer. I am asking all Axis to stay at 30,000' or less so they will not be visible to the Alt Monkeys. They will only know where once you are making a pass on the buffs, no protection, they just seem interested in individual glory, though they can be effective fighters.

Hawk... It might be a good idea to have your guys practice landing the 262. If you are fast they take a long time to slow down for final approach. This also makes them vulnerable to attack.

I agree Drdart.

Beaver, I believe they will have at least one Fighter Group, the 4th, as close escorts with possible high (above clouds) element and lower element with the buffs. They traditionally do a good job at that. If the Allies do this right they will have the other two large squads sweeping but remaining fairly close to the bombers. Once we make our first pass they will probably be on us pretty quickly and we can count on them going all out for kills, taking it to the deck if necessary. It seems to me that if their forces are all closely deployed there might be some value in having some fighters up with or above the alt monkeys to keep their attention and perhaps draw them away from the bombers a bit.

No alt limits just clouds at 30,000ft.

262s are only enabled at 4 fields 70, 73,75, 88 indicated on the map.
Targets are only those on the map with stars or AI shipping and C47s flying the indicated routes.
AI aircraft will be parked at some of the target fields.

So the obvious target of the Allies is closing the 4 jet fields as fast as possible to deny their use for the series. They will also post some mid level CAPs over the closer field targets and bridges waiting for the 262s to come in. Its not easy to bomb accurately with the speed of the 262 so practice.

262s may attack AI a/c parked on the fields or C47s flying in the air. They may bomb targets and sink AI shipping. Any attack on Allied fighters or bombers in the air will be awarded a penalty plane.

Radar is relatively short this series at 40 miles radius so watch the northern hole but the fighter advantage is not so great and the a/c available are fast so there should be good time for intercepting with proper scouting.

Good Luck

Just for clarification, does this mean the 262s cannot defend themselves by shooting back if attacked by Allied fighters?

My ROE will be, we will not go after targets that we are not allowed. But, if they come after us we will defend ourselves.
