FIGHTER COMPARISON<S> both Allied and Axis.
Usually I only post my comparisons for the side I'm flying, but since the flightmodels are brand new for the Spitfire V's and the Bf 109F's (The c.202 has only recieved slight changes), I decided it would only be fair if all know what they are flying and fighting against as the time for testing has been short.
SPEEDThe Bf 109F-4 is the fastest plane at military power. Do note though that the Messerschmitt F-4 does not have a WEP setting and the Spitfire Vc can run right with it for a 5 min period. The C.202 is competitive with the Spitfire Vc in speed.
CLIMB RATEThe Bf 109F-4 is superior at climbing down low, while the Spitfire has an equal climb rate at high altitude due to the small penguin-wings on the german fighter. The Bf 109F-4 can get 2000 ft above the Spitfire for max altitude though (40 000 ft vs 38 000 ft. The C.202 can get to 32 000 ft).
TURN RATEThe Spitfire rules the turn fight in clean setting, but the F-4 can turn right with the British fighter when using 10° of flaps. The C.202 is currently decent in the turn but should avoid getting to tangled in a dogfight.
FIREPOWERThe spitfire has the best firepower, while the Bf 109F-4 pilots might get to experience the documented frustration of the real ww2 Luftwaffe pilots regarding the 109F-4's inferior lethality.
Spitfire Vc: 4x .303 cals, 2x 20 mm
C.202 sVIII: 2x 7.7 mm, 2x 20 mm
Bf 109F-4: 2x 7.92 mm, 1x 20 mm
FUEL TIMEQuite even with the Axis planes being able to stay up longer at 100% throttle.
100% throttle
C.202 sVIII: 94 minutes, 169 minutes with droptanks.
Bf 109F-4: 94 minutes, 165 minutes with droptank.
Spitfire Vc: 82 minutes, 146 minutes with droptank.
<S> and good luck all!
