23rd will be escort since they typically field the most numbers.
475th, RCAF, and AE will be Sweep.

SAF - 3 steps -
124-RCAF, AE
125-475th

Take off T+0 head to 3 8 5 Orbit for Rejoin and then we will head direct to where the enemy is heading toward.
Plan on Big Wing Employment....

We will engage. We will go to whatever altitude it takes to fight and kill....if your squadron is not OK with that, then let me know and we can put you on escort.

Notes:
Guns outside of D2 are worthless. Set convergence on 150, start shooting at D2. 2 seconds on target and you can kill....less than that, it will be lucky to damage...farther than that...nothing being done to them.

I'm expecting a C200 bombing sortie right off...and if we engage them and force the jettison that is fine....but we will engage them and attempt to kill.

Darryl...the 200s have ~60minutes of fuel at 100 and Hurris have 75minutes. The only thing we do better than them is fly faster while higher....above 15k is where we get an advantage worth mentioning. All the Hurri's lost (Except those tasked to bomb fields) have been lost in defense of the bombers.

To answer your question about attacking the enemy: the fighters I have seen (and video's I have seen) show that the Hurricane's tasked with escort have stayed with the bombers and have not gone off mission and attacked enemy bombers, nor have they pursued low....instead climbing back up to stay with the bombers. If they enemy is saying we are not attacking them as they are attacking you, then it seems that needs to be communicated to escort better. Trying to see a black dot against a black and dark green mottled terrain is hard....JABO announces 200's in the bombers and sometimes that is the first we know of them. Escort is usually high and a little behind you guys....so if you get a call out...please relay it so escort can engage.

Fighter squadrons--please check in with your numbers:

475th will have 8.

Not sure I understand what you mean by "what we bomb but rather 'how' we bomb." First, we have NOT made multiple passes over targets. We have ONLY bombed on ingress, extended and flipped to hit the target again on the way home. Secondly, another point I have made in another post, we have NOT sent our Ai in to bomb anything. The FM is goofed up making it nearly impossible to keep one's Ai with him. That is a fact. Run a test, if you like.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Flipping and hitting a target again is more than 1 ie: multiple passes. I was making a suggestion if you bomb a target, move on to another target, etc; then you are a moving contact and not static where the enemy can converge on you, so please don't get defensive. The AIs don't keep up well with a hard turn, soooo don't make one
I know a enemy base field awards 10 points, but if you loose 5 Blenheim's doing it, your net score is ZERO. Keeping the enemy guessing where you are going, escorts that can push them down from your altitude and most importantly, speed, compounds the enemy's interception greatly.
(example : Raids in the ETO were most succesful by feinting towards a target and hitting another so the LW would be out of position)

Hope this helps your planning <S>

Hey Dobs, do you want all of us on your TS, if that is too much, we can host the AE on our TS :)

As we did for a couple of frames already this series, when we were operating together, until the orders were changed as we were taking off :(

OK....Common Teamspeak channel it is.

So in an effort to keep the extraneous comms down....a quick "how it works" for us.

Combat Comms--means someone is engaged, extraneous comms are to stop. ADMIN TYPE IN YOUR BUFFER.
Tally-see a bandit or bogie (all bogies treated as bad guy until confirmed friend or foe)
Visual-see a good guy.

Engaged-actively fighting a bandit.
Offensive, Defensive, or neutral- used to describe my "status" with the bandit.
"Dobs engaged Offensive, C200 5k"

Break vs Jink. We hardly ever (well most of us) use 6 call. If you hear break it means break...if you hear jink, it means someone is shooting at you...do what you have to live.

OUT- means we are attempting to exit the fight. Usually has a direction appended to it. "475th OUT SOUTH!" It is directive in nature....
No reply needed unless you can't disengage... "Dobs unable, engaged defensive C200"

Some basic ROE:
If you hold the mic button down for > 5 seconds you are wrong..... "Dobs has 3 200s over here by field 29 and I think I'm going to dive down and attack them and then zoom back up and see what happens and then do it again but I don't think they see me so I'm diving in and going to shoot em in the head!"

If you are training to be a sports announcer and like to give a play by play on your actions...you are wrong.

If you hear something you don't understand...ask:) Trucker comm works in pinch...

We are going en masse for this...so hopefully we can bring numbers to bear...and hit them hard early. We have NOT been doing this, so maybe we will catch them unaware.

Going to get real bz on the radio's...so try to type admin as much as possible, or set up whispers for your squaddies if you are lead so you can send orders that way if need be.

Oh the comms discipline I tried to establish so long ago. Alas it was not to be!
We'll do our best.
