4th had 12 pilots in attendance, including bombr as GCI. We launched F89 otw to F83 in our P-40s heavy and saw the AEs trailing, but no one else. Thought orders were all to 83... F 83 was clear on our arrival and I elected to make one pass and scoot, since bombr advised IJN inbound. Got a couple of the ack, I believe and a fuel dump and were chased out by a bunch of KI-43s which we managed to escape while robert took some damage, but downed the opponent with a couple of us getting assists. As we neared our field we saw some high bombers and persued. Light got an escort and one bomber(AI), while the rest got a few more AI buffs, but at a cost. Pappyb got one , but had to bail from a burning plane. I took over GCI and the rest of the night was chasing bombers and rearming until near the end of frame we got covered with IJN CAP and were ineffective with only 5 left flying, so I stood down. ALL in all we had 3 kills, 3 assists and 13 AI and/or Ground objects destroyed for 3 losses and 4 safe bails. |

83 was the PLANNED target. 475th ran into invasion flight on the way there...ended up bombing the fleet and/or engaging/running from IJN aircraft the rest of the frame. |
