Hey guys, missed last week due to circumstances wayyyy beyond the realm of anything. If anyone has any suggestions on what where and how I'm all ears. I should have a prelim plan by tomorrow nite with final orders up by Friday. I was looking for a dam to bust but have been unsuccessful finding one!! (dams are 30 points)

Ciao for now!

I think Frame 3 you will have the IJ at least coming farther to hit your bases in the SE than right across the Owen Stanleys.
Expect to see at least Vals and Kates coming SE to support the invasion fleet there. The betties could return to Morseby or try and close the fields in the SE but its a long way from their Lae bases in the North.

Now do you fight it out toe to toe in the SE or give them the invasion fleet and strike from Moresby?
Ships are worth good points but you dont have to go after the invasion fleet to find them. The NS sunk several in frame 2 some right in the teeth of the enemy fighter force.

Muskyz plan was very sound in Frame 2. I think we had a very close frame because of it. Taking out ships\docks at two locations and destroying tanks and pontoons at the two arty positions on the trail was effective and scored good points. Knocking down all those Kates and Vals will force them to cover them next frame. They cant afford to give away 40 pts a frame if they only close 2 more bases than the allies. As long as the allies can strike somewhere where they aint they can hurt the IJ and if they concentrate all their forces in one location or on one mission then that frees up lots of targets.

Fighter versus fighter is what it is. First time in the history of S3s that the US side has been on the wrong end of a plane matchup in an early war PTO event. If you have no confidence in your rides then think up a strategy that works better fighter to fighter. Either mass at one point and hope to go down in a blaze of glory taking enough bombers with you to score higher or split up into smaller units strafe the scattered ground targets, search for travelling ships off the east coast and surprise the enemy with the short radar range and run.

I can understand the frustration on the Allied side but there are ways to minimize the enemies advantages, in particular their ability to cap your fields and group in a big wing while using their one great disadvantage, the AI mbls to score solid points and force them to cover these in and out. They wont have time to cap one area if your small groups are coming in and intercepting the outbound AIs without escort. They will need to coordinate and cover them reducing their time over allied airfields. Thats the theory anyways but still not an easy thing to do.

Translate...don't go where they are...or you die.

So avoid the humans, kill the AI and ground targets.

Good Luck Skuzzr...we are counting on you:)

Skuzzer! do not use the score sheet from last series. the link is wrong on the S3 page if you don't refresh it (a weird caching phenomenon).
Go here http://www.squadselectseries.com/events ... ummary.pdf To see the correct score sheet.
Sorry, no dams.

Not sure what cool or dew would say but,
I would like to hit the port at 60/62 again and sink ships with escort. Frame 1 we were unmolested and had the 100th as escort. maybe another Fighter group would like to come along in there P39's and help this time.

just a thought. We have 2 frames of P39's and 1 B25 left in the series.

Ok CO's you all know your people better than I do so..........Rides...who wants what?? Were not going to base like we did last week. I wanted to do something sneaky and diabolical but with the rides we have it's not going to happen, so I'm thinking KISS.. Keep it Simple Stupid! Books reports and work has kept me away from the computer but I promise something semi solid by Fri AM.
