We had a fantastic turn out for Frame 5. We had 11 bombers and 11 fighters. Our guest pilots were WildBil and Gutterman from the DRs.

I divided the group into three sections. Group 1 was to hit F67, group 2 F40 and group 3 F41.

Pappyb and I decided that we would meet at the 1.1x at T+40 so Coolon moved us back to allow us to meet that time. As in all wars come things communications get misunderstood. The Knights bombers lifted from their base and the fighters held off until we got closer to our targets.

Was we headed south the 4th reported they got ambushed so I gave the command for our fighters to head toward port 67. Thinking the 4th was going to make the dead line, I decided to cut the route short so we could get in and out fast. This turned out not to be a good decision. Although our fighters were doing their best, they were no match for the Axis plane set. Once we arrived at the 1.1x I sent all 3 groups to their intended targets.

The 4th reported in at the 2.2.4 and really thought they would make it, but we got there to soon at 67. We were only able to sink 1 ship before all 2 of us died. The rest of the group was able to sink their ships, but got jumped afterwards and all died.

This just shows you how fast things can change in the S3. You might think you made the right decision just to see all your plans go to hell in an instance.

Thanks Coolon for a great plan and wish we could had done more for you. This was a hard one given the small area you had to work with. Those going after the IL2s had it easy. Those of us going after bases wasn't so lucky.

Thanks again for a fun filled evening.
