Not confirmed yet:

Still having some trouble figuring out fields and 4 step squads without spamming them all over the map.

Are the 4th & the 352nd requiring all 4 steps or has it been 3?

unfinished IDEAS:

This is what I am thinking, I'll put it more detailed later.

1) fighters meet Axis looking for IL2s while bombers are gathering for anti shipping strike.
2) Night stalkers take fast Mossies and hit shipping out west out of radar in and out quick, should have a few fighters in the area. Idea is to show attack early.
3) fighters rtb & refuel..... N/S get out of dodge.
4) Fighters come into sea area west of Sevastapol try to establish superiority for Ju88s to torpedo shipping.

I'm thinking the Knights/nomads would come from the north and west.
NightStalkers can base wherever
I want to get the fighters as close as possible.

I'm not sure of armaments, but we might want to have fighters take bombs to drop on ships also... then hunt down transports.

Please advise and share your thoughts. Feel free to suggest a differing idea you might have.
I will try to have it all finalized by Saturday noon.

Looks like 4th has been a 3 step for 3 of 4 frames. So use us as 3 step.
Will be in LA-5Fn for final bash.

How about having the Ju88's level bomb the 1st strike and hit static ships? Moving ships are 3 pt's and static ships are 1.5 pt's.

F40 has a bunch of static ships:

And 41 has more:

These 18 static ships would give us 27 pt's. Then they could try torpedo's out west or bomb static ships at the other ports (usually 3 ships (4.5pt's) per small port)
They would definitely need the fighter cover for the attack on 40 and 41 because that is where everyone is going to be.

I, for one, do not like the odds of torpedo's. too small a hit box on the little ships. Maybe not.

The good thing about the IL2 AIs is they will be coming in from the directions indicated on the map so they will have to cover NW-N-NE-E-SE hopefully this will spread them out a bit. F220 and Sevastopol will be the main focus of the IL2 attacks. They are pretty dumb but will be targeting radar and ships first at locations.

The 352nd needs basing for (3) steps. Additionally, please keep in mind that all 352nd FG pilots will be operating the Yak 3 aircraft which has a total endurance of 36 minutes. If one includes "travel time", this aircraft will have very limited "time over target" to establish any sort of "air superiority" prior to having to book it for home. The Yak 3 has no available bombs and only 120 rounds of Soviet 20mm cannon. I would, personally, not expect the Yaks to be of any help at all against shipping.

Happy trails...
