Just want to check in and see what the bomber guys want as targets this time. Should we close more bases,
or go for shipping and AIs.
I'm thinking of the 4th flying the p39s this time. So all chime in with thoughts and we can get started.

We have the Ju88s left.

Pappy just fyi the P39's are serious widow makers. Lost our entire flight of 39's on the first sortie. I know you have to fly them just giving some feed back.

Nomads also only have Ju88 left. Seems shipping is the best way to go with them. Unfortunately waiting till the last 2 frames to fly them surely shows our hand.

Question:

Is the Ju88 fighter version an option? that would do well vs ships.

I would think the Ju88 would do well dropping bombs, however I'm not sure of the survivability vs the LW cannon.

Pappyb,
In my lowly opinion, I think ships are the key. Last frame was fun, closing 4 bases, but using everyone to close those 4 bases earned us 32pts. In frame 2, 4 Night Stalkers attacking ships (12 sunk) earned 36pts.

BUT, in frame 2 the AX didn't find us. We were sinking ships in the 0,0 box and like with our iL2's I don't think they knew where we were. That wont happen again. With all the fields we have closed and the front moving west more (I assume) they are going to be based heavily in the west. I would expect the JG's and TK to be based out of 28 with orders to cover ships.

I would suggest the NS go after ships (0,0) with cover and the buffs hit 220 and 46? come up from the south so that the fighters can cover the buff's and the strikers? Let the AX have the northern iL2's and put all the fighters down south.

Just thinking out loud.

We can do ships IF the torps work. We'll do whatever you want us to do buddy!

P-39s are also good for ship-hunting. Can even defend themselves at the deck if having more numbers than intercepting Bf109s. Watching jlordj's video I agree the P-39 cannot compete at all above 10k.

They should probably be used for NOE strikes on boats, fast in, fast out. (I remember a thrilling 4th FG mission last time the Crimea map was used). Might also use the P-39s to defend IL-2s if making sure one has the numbers on any low flying LW Ai-hunters.

is it possible to close fields near the west to deny use in frame 5?? push them away from ship hunters?
