If I am reading the rules correctly we have to fly all types of a/c assigned to us for at least one frame this series?

Quote:
A/C = squad assigned a/c steps. All steps must be flown during a series, when and what mix is up to the squad CO.

Is that how you guys read this?

I don't know where you got that quote, but here is the description from the S3 rules....

"7. Aircraft Types - each squad has a list of a\c types in the A/C Table that they may fly during a series. There are no limits on how many of each type a squad may fly or in how many frames but it must be noted that airfields are designated either single-engine or twin-engine fields for basing and twin-engine types may only attack specific field locations. This should provide a variety of a/c in the series."

Notice it says "MAY FLY".... i see nothing requiring us to fly them all.

I see this on the "Sides and Rides" link on the S3 main page. It's a good question as there is conflicting statements

Sorry that was a cut and paste error Mtdew. You are free to fly any of the a/c you are assigned, there are no minimums or maximums. The only hiccup to planning is twin-engine a/c can only base at some fields and attack most but not all targets. There is really the only reason you need to switch up your rides. The IL-2 can pretty much attack anything and base anywhere except a medium field. If you like that ride you can stick with it the entire series. It will be a fair bit tougher in the final 3 frames as well.
