4th was tasked with defending our North line along with the Haze(100th).
Since we only had 13 pilots, we based the group at F212 with bombr as GCI.
1st sortie we launched our Yaks SW and bombr had us turn east(in climb) to vector to the F171,151 area.
I kept one section at 10-14k and the other high(>20k). As we passed F222 we spotted our AIs low heading to F260 and followed. The haze was en-route from F234, but soon the high section called "High Bandits"
and had to engage. They brought them down low and we had a running fight to NW. By the time the haze arrived, the enemy was rtbing and we had at least 1 kill plus a couple of assists. As our fuel and ammo was low, I called for RTB and we continued to F212. Unfortunately we lost =weis= to our radar antenna since
we were landing to SW. I guess he just clipped a wing and crashed. After seeing that I mandated we land to NE where it was a clear approach. =weis=
then took over GCI duties.
Sortie 2 had us meet the Haze around the F260 area
and we went a little further south where we saw some Luftwaffe low near F6. Had a good brawl there and I saw rock collide with the 190 he was shooting. It looked to me like he was at least D1-2 when he exploded while the 190 went on his merry way.Billpe finished him and I got an assist as we egressed NW with the haze in tow. Once clear they rtbd to F234.
Sortie 3 we decided to head towards F 233, met up with kapsyl and crommm and found the JG51 near F260 and had another running fight which went to the deck. bombr got hit and had to ditch above the front line, but was captured by some SSS troops. We lost a couple, but nailed a few also. When we returned to F212 it was late for any ground tgt attacks, so we stood down...It was getting to be sundown anyway and the O club sounded awfully god.
Thanks hawk for taking the lead once again....things could have been better, but it is what it is.
I didn't see any AIs up north being hit this time, or am I wrong?
Seems most AI kills I saw in buffer were by he who wrote their script  ?????
