http://www.squadselectseries.comWe are down a couple squads and numbers are the lowest they have been so there will be some changes this year. Basically you will see the following changes;
- the use of AI wingmen to make up for the lack of bomber and strike players
- more use of scripted aircraft AI routines to simulate a bigger bomber/strike environment.
- limited ground targets, map areas and goals to make mission planning easier.
- frame COs are back to a volunteer basis but expect assigned duties if the slots are slow to fill-up.
- emphasis on better plane match-ups and/or choices.
- buff hardness and otto stronger than in the MA.
As the Allies in this series expect to see lots of small flights of IL2s penetrating enemy airspace and hitting targets where possible. Due to the AI warping issues they will not be large formations and not too smart but they should help to distract the enemy. Furthermore expect to see lots of friendly shipping moving across the Kerch Strait as the Soviet prepare to invade the Crimea from the east. This will need to be protected. Enemy shipping will be plentiful off Sevastopol and along the Crimean SE coast. This will need to be attacked.
Plane matchups are good with the La5FN the VVS mainstay. Cloud cover, low IL2 AI routines and the need to protect shipping should bring the fight down to historic under 20,000ft levels. But as usual the LW will have the advantage up high.
Please jump in an get the Frame COs assigned as soon as possible. We need everyone to jump in and keep this running and Frame COs are the single most important aspect of any S3 event.
Good Luck!
