We are slower than any of their aircraft at 5000'. They have some bombers which will be at higher level, but they also have a ton of Jabo aircraft.

The Bf110c4 is their slowest fighter, but it is also a Jabo airframe for some squads, and any squad can use it for Jabo. Their fighter squads get this aircraft for 3 out of 5 frames. At 5,000' 100% fuel on takeoff it was running at 285 mph (TGS), I imagine it will be slower with bombs and/or drop tanks.

Our Hurri I hits 265 and the Hurri IIb hits 270.

Closing fields, destroying bridge spans (only for RAF @2 each) and GV's are where we will get our points. Up to medium fields only have a few targets to be destroyed.

The Hurri 1a can carry no bombs or drop tanks, but it is the only fighter (without drop tanks) that can fly for 1 hour at 100% throttle.
The Hurri IIB can carry 2 250 lb bombs.

The Bf110C4 can carry 2 500KG or 250KG bombs (and 2 small drop tanks as well), the 109 can carry 1 250KG or 4 50KG. the Mc200 (Ki43) can carry 2 250KG's.

New Tac, see below, I am leaving these here because there is some good info.

Any aircraft stationed at 57 come under attack as they are so close to the village with base at 56.

One thing to note is that you need bridge spans to close a location that has them attached. So if you take out a tank unit with bridges attached you get credit for the tank unit closed and the bridge spans destroyed. Its targets like this that are the best surface locations to attack with the limited RAF assets. Hitting the Axis on the fringes but with some good hurri cover nearby is the best approach. NOE stuff will get chased down by a few fast LW fighters and if they dont have support end the night pretty quickly.

Changes Bolded

The Swordfish is a good torpedo aircraft, but with the small coast line the Axis have there will not be many ships, so we will save them till later.

23rd FG - F65 - Heavy Hurri IIb - Take out the vehicles and bridges at 68. The Axis can only get 1 step of fighters there even close to your arrival. Be careful as you are the only guys in the East. Watch for bombers or Jabo aircraft (and fighters of course). If you are outnumbered, retreat to the West, everyone else is there. If nothing is happening, get the vehicles and bridges at 70 & 73. We have DAR coverage of 68 & 70.

You may be able to strafe the vehicles or even the bridge spans down (need someone to test that)

352nd -MOB (3 Steps) - Hurri 1a - watch for intruders (especially from 55) then cover front from 53-60, be ready to cover the Raiders

RCAF 127 - F107 & F61 - Hurri1a - watch for intruders 24-60, be ready to cover the Raiders

Doolittle Raiders - F124 & 125 - B25C - Close 55 & 56 then 59,if bombs left and opposition light, head North to 19 & 18. 352nd and 127 will be covering you. If you could post aprox time to 55 and alt, the escort wiii be ready. You are using TAC 22 as usual?

Any thoughts on this plan, modifications, etc. Always welcome. :)

FWIW: I had no luck with either vehicles or bridge spans with the Hurri I. AAA was "laser accurate" and took me out at 8500' on the first trial on one of the villages. My impression with GVs was that the flight lead would actually have to pick ONE of the vehicles and instruct multiple fighters to make runs on it in order for it to pop. Attacking a tank with a Hurri I is useless. Unless level bombers can take out the AAA, individual locations are "dicey" to attack. A personal suggestion is to assure that the "heavies" actually target the AAA at their chosen targets or "clean-up" by any associated fighter groups will not happen.

I was able to take down 2 bridge spans with a Hurri 1a, but it took all of my ammo. I attacked a friendly bridge so I could try it, got killed all 3 times against an Axis bridge before I had even sighted the bridge, 1 shot from AAA each time, wing, wing, wing. I guess the bombs will be used on the ack and straffing the bridge spans works, forget to check vehicles. Jabo said there are 2 20mm's guarding the vehicles.

Yup, PKed by "laser guided" AAA in one shot by a battery that you will never see. Getting "low" in this terrain is NOT a good idea. Low= less than 25,000'. •Flak - AAA limited to 25,000ft in height. One or two passes with a Hurri I will kill the 20mms. However, it would seem that one would have to "schedule" a certain number of losses for each gun destroyed by a fighter. Fighter losses have a high number of negative points in this Series.

Hmm, might need to send in the Royal engineers first to set charges. How do you spell sacrificial lambs?

Swede- never finished an S3 alive for all frames.

Unless our turn out is much higher than "normal", expect that the 352nd will fly all aircraft out of F-99, the MOB.

Okay Dewolf let me know and I might be able to move the RCAF 127 closer to the front.

Ahhh......The "MOB" will accomodate (4) Steps. That will accommodate our needs. •medium fields = 4 steps
