Bombers based at 1 & 87 in their Forts, the swing out North over the sea then head south for 80 (85 Dar), 91, 27 (26 DAR) then Rebase to 87. They will need to ferry to 1 to continue operations. Or would the prefer to start at 87 and go North, reversing the order. The 4th will be covering you so please coordinate with them. There will be some fighters all along the front if you need extra cover. Buff routes are as shown below. 4th FG - F77 - Heavy to 72,73,31,82,81 (might need to cut short to escort the Buffs) you will escort the North Buff group 23rd FG - F79 - Heavy to 44,43,42,85 then hit their Tigers on the way back to 79. You will be escorting the South Buff Group (if they have the turnout) Haze (100th) - F89 - Heavy to 62, PIZVH, then protect M4A3's American Eagles - F78 (F14 if you prefer) - Heavy to 67,36, then protect T34's RCAF 127 Wing - F22 - Heavy to 45,46, then protect M4A1's If the 352nd moves at any of the small squads, I want them all to fall back to the 52 area, I will have the 4th or 23rd move in from behind and then we can all attack at once, outnumbering them by 2-1. Just watch for my order to "FALL BACK", once they are dealt with, resume normal protection duties. God Speed Gentlemen <S> |

Salute! Hey, Beaver!!! You talking about F87 and not F77? Secondly, heading north puts the buffs in the DAR from F84, that pesky island. If the buffs ain't going to the stratosphere, we can get about 600 to 700 feet per minute climb rate. So from F1 we would be able to hit anything but only after 20 or 30 minutes climbing and cruising. Closer to the front line seems a better choice. If we gotta go back to F10, then no problem. The ferry mission is hard for the buffs due to coord problems and possible untintentional teleporting. Gums shall still defer to the DR on the buff plan. Gums opines... |

If you start at 77, won't you need some time to get to alt? I need to make sure you have escort before you cross the front. |

BEAVER/GUMS: As the mission is planned, there probably won't be a second sortie for the bombers. Yes, we'll need to get to altitude and yes, my squaddies can hit their targets from 27-30K. The mission, as planned, calls for the closure of several outposts/artys by the fighter squads resulting in 35 points, if 100% successful. That's a great first sortie for them. You want us to be climbing during their first sortie, if I understand your plan. That's a good idea, too. However, I would ask that you allow us to be based at both F1 and F87 and allow me to split up the bombers into two groups. Both groups would take off and fly toward a set RP at F13 grabbing as much alt as possible. Then, based on the GCI, at the time, either they would continue together or split up and hit targets in the North and/or South. (See picture below) If we can get a good turn out of pilots, I'd like to see us remain in the two groups to avoid nearly being completely wiped out in one spot as has been happening. Also, if you will allow us to hit the outposts designated in the image, we could bring home possibly as much as 42 points (22 in South and 20 in the North). By hitting the airfields only, we can only hope to bring you 15 points, if we are 100% successful. There are many more targets at those fields, as compared to the outposts. FYI, two outposts are six points and 1 GAF is only 5 points. We'll do whatever you prefer, but just thought I'd toss that out there for consideration. The flight plan that I proposed in the image allows us to be in a position to go wherever your GCI points us and might put us in a good position to be escorted by fully fueled/armed escorts that can stay with us over enemy territory. If we must continue on together on one route or the other, we still haven't lost any time. <S> |

Looks good Darryl, just don't hit 47, it is on our side of the map now. Also if the group returning to 87 has any eggs left, it would be good to hit the DAR at F26. <S> |

pappyb wrote: having severe 'puter probs......ut you do realize the 4th is flying Spit 9s.....??? yes I do Pappy, you can meet the North group just before they cross the border and you will have enough fuel to stick with them until the are back inside our territory. |

Some anyway, it can't hurt to try, should probably drop both at once for maximum effect. |
