Time to start planning...... What are the DRs and Nomads flying this frame? Agree with sage advice about outposts and such...more points, less trouble. Am thinking all lites carry ord and clean up. if needed. Who wants what? |

Salute! I think DR and Nomads are gonna fly B-25C and use the Forts for last two frames. Darryl will chime in here, and Nomads will go with them versus a two or three-ship someplace. Gums sends... |

FYI I messed up in frame 1 when I flew a B25-C so I will be in a B25-D this frame. |

PAPPY: It appears that the 352nd used heavy 190s to close targets. Will they have a/c to do that in the next three frames? If not, then we can expect them to be searching for the bomber group. Will their remaining a/c have advantage or disadvantage at 25K? If we dropped from 25K+, I'd like to know absolutely that we are going to have enough fighters dedicated to our protection to give us time over targets. It will take us time to get to that altitude, so your fighters will have time to protect ground targets and disrupt any enemy attacks during our climb. Suggestions: 1. Protect our bombers on high altitude bomber run. 2. Knock out radar as a diversion. 2. Find and kill all the enemy bombers, so they are limited in collecting points during frame 3. Bombers: Plane: B17F Fuel: 22% Bombs: 12 x 500lbs Base: F1 (rebasing at F77 after first sortie) Suggested Missions: Sortie 1: Climb to 27K (F1 to F12 to F77, then strike F72, F73, F31, F32, F74, F66, F71, F34) land at F77. Sortie 2: Climb to 27K (F77 to F12 to F79, then strike F44, F43, F42, F41, F21) land at F79 Sortie 3: Climb to 22K (F79 noe to F63, climb toward F87, turn 180-degrees toward F92, then strike F62, F91 and/or F27, F57) land at F89 What do you think, PAPPY, GUMS? <S> |

Salute! So we're thinking of Forts? Then use the Mitchells for one more frame to satisfy rules, huh? Gotta see if we can even see the tgts from up high. Will try to meet at the discussion. Gums sends.... |

Because of the small terrain there is no re-basing. You stay at the field you start at. If your homefield is closed during play you may rebase to F10 in the rear and run ops from there for the rest of the frame. |

<S> Perhaps a few small element raids over the entire map with the buff groups would confuse them, instead of one big group of bombers. Downside of using the fighters for diversion if big box is used, is the timing will be off to get up and to the buffs. Would rather the fighter groups continue the jabo attacks, on the tanks and outposts, where they can get in and out quickly. Swede- 416 / 127 Wing |

Salute! Well, Swede, the gorilla of buffs has a few things going for it. - Tgt destruction generally better, as we cross-target the important stuff - Defense is much better due to mutual support and our otto and ghost gunners that joined late or got shot down - The gorilla is a giant enema magnet, and seems to me to be a good place for little friends to be around, as the interceptors have to "settle in" for several seconds to get a good shot at our not-so-tuff planes With the small buffs, the three-ship elements can work well. Lower altitude and speedier. The big guys take 20 or 30 minutes just to reach altitude - figure 500 feet per minute climb rate. So I will go with DR this time and we shall see what we can do. Just need a few little friends about us that can help prevent serious dead six attacks by the bandits. Gums opines.... |
