Post subject:  Frame Three Orders

Minor adjustments will be made as allied CO's look over the plan and ask for corrections.

Orders are a little unusual for this frame. All of the allied CO’s held a secret meeting on an unspecified island and came up with a plan to hold back the axis machine while slowly destroying their ability to launch from anywhere but the Treasury Islands.
It begins with the 4th FG launching from our CV group to meet other 4th squad at 45. 45 group will feint while waiting for 352nd and raiders to arrive.
At that time raiders will attempt to take ack out at 37, 38, 38, 40 and 41 – 28 if doable but not needed. Fighters will help with the ack by going in as pairs – one wing to get ack firing while his wind destroys target.
At the same time the 352nd and the 4th will setup a rotating cap over the entire area thus preventing the axis from returning to base or re-launching. Any enemy ac will be destroyed on sight.
Fighters will also strafe all ground targets at the same fields to glean points for the frame. Meanwhile the raiders and Night Stalkers will attack static shipping in the slot and any location determined to be possible.

4th 2 steps CV 1 Step at 45
1st sortie cap but send 1 step to 45 help
Step at 45 will feint to wait for 352nd and raiders to arrive.
2nd Sortie Cap CV and 45 area - step

AE 1 step CV2
1st sortie cap cv
2nd sortie cap cv

352 4 Steps 53 and 54
Sortie 1 – Launch to 45 area to help the raiders take down ack at 37,38, 38. 40 and 41

NS 60/b]
Static Shipping of choice
2nd sortie slot shipping if axis carriers spotted try to get them on the way back or 3rd sortie.

[b]Raiders base 60
1st sortie take ack out 37,38, 38. 40 and 41
2nd Sortie – static shipping TBD

VFA – base 58
1st sortie Cap 53 54 area and be ready to help anywhere!
2nd sortie Cover Isabel Island shipping – if too late will reassign.

Nomads base 59
Fly with NS both sorties.

Quoting Jabo's email to me:

"don’t worry about the carriers, they come back at various strengths for both sides. If you loose a carrier all the steps from the other one can rebase to the surviving carrier, if you loose both then they can rebase on land somewhere."

the info about the F4F would have been good to know when we were all together during planning session... that creates a problem... can you get our carrier moved northward?

The map from Jabo shows it 4 grids west and one grid north, with it travelling towards the russel Islands....
actual placement sunday evening will be somewhere near that vicinity.

Unless it is very close to the Russell Islands, we will have a problem, according to DEWOLF's calculations.

Nice to see you forming a plan sir :)
A few things that came into my mind:

CVs: The allied carrier group is running from 4,1 to 7,2 square, so we should have the legs.

Plan B: Where are the 2 steps at F45 to rebase if their field is closed, considering it's a possible outcome?

Plan B navy: Japanese HQ are probably aware that our CV might be close and send scouts/torpedo planes to kill it. Let's be a step ahead and know where to rebase the 4 CV based steps if it's sunk.
