We selected F153 (primary) and F141 (secondary) targets for our first sortie. Everything seemed to be going ok until we got close to the F153. Then, the frame rate dropped to 20-30. We found it extremely difficult to control the a/c (iL2) and shoot at targets. Several of our guys ended up crashing. Only two were able to turn for home. One of those had his frame freeze and his plane exploded. The last pilot (BDBWWW) was able to return to F153 to close it before being shot down. I don't know what happened, but I don't think any of this can be chalked up to pilot error. Hope something gets fixed before next week. Don't think it will be something we will want to repeat, if you get my drift. Might want to mention that in General section of the S3 forum. I have a posting in there, and your frame rate problem might be a cronic issue with this arena that needs to be tweeked. |

Salute! Yeppers, we have many ground objects closeby and then all the critters. So frame rates could be a problem this series. Gums opines.... |

Could the effects package selected cause problems? Thinking that will all the strafing and shooting there would be smoke burning etc. Guys returned to the area later in the frame and had no problems with frame rates etc while trying to strafe down 141. Maybe have the select the stock graphics effects? |
