Post subject:  Frame 3 Planning and Target Selection

Anyone interested in getting things going for frame 3?
possible targets are:

Quote:
Allies may only attack one of the four targets listed below in a given frame. They do not have to be attacked in sequence. Targets may not be reattacked in subsequent frames. As such, LW will know in advance what target the Allies will be attacking in frame 5. Targets are:

- Oil Storage 91 (standing in for a rail target that is off the map)
- Dunkirk Port (Port 61 – standing in for Rotterdam, which is off the map –
----only 60% of eligible obj need be destroyed)
- Amiens (Rail Yd 121)

Allies may only claim victory in a frame if a target is closed.

Before each frame, and not later than 2000hrs EST on Sunday, the Allies must declare in this thread what direction they are approaching from, either from the North Sea or across the Channel.
Allies do not have to declare what their target is. The LW will have to deduce that.

OK, I'll take frame 3.
Target will be Port 61. Disregarding ack guns there are 23 targets I believe. We only have to take down 60% of the targets which equals 14 minimum. I'll firm up the plan in the next few days. Anyone want to mark up the map with best possible bomber runs inbound from the North? If not I'll tackle it. I'm thinking run all the way down the 8 line, they will see us on dar but can't cross no fly zone. we continue to 11,8x and turn S to target. Send some escorts ahead to sweep ahead once near the 11,8x turn in with ~20 miles to target. Drop egress NW to nearest no fly zone. ~Then 25 miles back to no fly zone. This limits the time we are in the lw fly zone. IF we have 4 or more bombers we should be able to do this in one sortie unless escort numbers are low or our luck goes south. Thoughts?
Sorry for the extraneous "text" on this recon photo, no time to redo. Top Left ack island is for land reckoning of targets.

I did this one previously.... not offended if someone sees a better way.

Thanks Coolon, I didn't pay attention to the previous post with the 61 targeting map. Remember we only need 60% ( 13 of 21 targets) so we could whittle it down some and bomb the concentrated targets. Maybe forget about the black line targets and the 3 targets that are inland the furthest, ie run down the dock/warehouse area and the 3 tanks to the south?

That makes a lot of sense!
3 or 4 (buffs) should work well

Coolon could you post a target map with 4 bomber tracks hitting like I mentioned above?

I just spent an hour trying to get my paint program working/reinstalled/etc to no avail. Also no s3 arena is running to do a .show command to check targets. I wonder if the lighthouse is a target?
Thanks

I've found "Paint 3D" very helpful along with "snipping tool"

On a Mac here. My problem is two fold...My paint program won't run on my machine now until I upgrade the operating system. If I update the operating system apparently I will have troubles with WB's and any updates. So I'll look for another program and should post a map later tonite or Saturday.
