Gentlemen:
That SOB, the planner of the attack on Pearl harbor, Admiral Yamamoto is dead. Operation Vengeance was a complete success. Two brave pilots gave their lives for this mission. God rest their souls. The Japanese leadership is in shambles and troop moral is at an all time low.
The first phase of Operation Toenails has been a success. Japanese forces have been forced to retreat to the Western regions of New Georgia ISLAND. Several of our Cruisers were destroyed during the battle by enemy torpedo bombers. But we have taken control of 3 more vital airfields on the island.
More news. We have a new hot shot taking over VMF-214 Swashbucklers. Major Gregory Boyington. He’s an ace from the famous Flying Tigers. So he should know a thing or two about fighting and killing the Japs. I’ve nixed the requested nickname of Boyington’s Bastards. Lets face it, that aint going to go over well in the papers back home. I hear they settled on The Black Sheep. Seems appropriate. But fancy names aint gonna win this war gents.
Phase 2 of Operation Toenails is underway. I want the Japs pushed out of New Georgia Island, and Vella Lavella Island.
We have been ferrying in some new and upgraded aircraft. The Navy’s F6F-3 Hellcat which is rumored to give the Zero some trouble, and a new upgraded Corsair, the F4U-1A.
The USS Saratoga is repaired and back in theater.
Lets get it done.
That is all.
Note; All Navy pilots may rebase at an airfield for all flights (except the first flight at T+0, must launch from CV) if a Navy pilot gets shot down he may roll from an airfield but must fly the correct Naval aircraft from the Navy (cv based) plane set. (1 Hellcat, 2 Wildcat or SBD, TBF) and of course..no teleporting as per usual S3 rules.

New info has come in from Naval command:
Halsey has called the carriers along with capital ships and troop transports to the waters Southeast of Guadalcanal. One carrier will be within flight of New Georgia but not too close. They are there to support Operation Toenail's offensive and air superiority goals.
Admiral Ainsworth will have a task force north and northwest of New Georgia. His mission is to support troop landings on the northwest of New Georgia. His will also be on guard for Japanese troop support convoys in the Kula Gulf and other waters around northern Kolombangara. Japanese resistance has been strong and we know the Tokyo express will be attempting to reinforce and supply Munda and Vila.
That is all.
***** Also to clarify rules. If your squad is a Navy (Cv based) unit, you must TO from the CV at beginning of the frame. However you may rebase at any airfield..However YOU MUST continue to fly the Navy plane set. If your squad is designated an Army (land based) unit, YOU MUST continue to fly the army plane set for the duration of the frame.
There were many infractions to the above rule on both sides, so I decided on a warning. Penalties will be handed out moving forward.

Historical bases for the VMA-214:
Aug-Sep 1943: Henderson field Okt 1943: Munda field 28th Nov 1943: Barakoma field (rest of the tour). 1944-1945: reformed at the CV USS Franklin
BBB S3 Rules: * Blacksheep squadron VMA-214: The Allies can choose up to 12 pilots per frame from the LAND BASED pilots to fly as Gregory "Pappy" Boyington's Blacksheep squadron. These pilots must operate from their assigned base for as long as it's not closed. Individual pilots of VMA-214 may only rearm at other fields or CV's when in an emergency, like leaking oil or fuel. The rest of the LAND BASED pilots, not chosen for the VMA-214, fly their normal rides as per the LAND BASED list below.
