4th FG S3 #110 MVM - Frame 1 AAR

4th rolled 9 pilots from F18. Climbed to 20k holding at 8,7X.

We proceeded to F18 after calls of incoming Buffs. We engaged low stukas and a few 109 escorts.
When clear, we climbed to the SW back to 20k and engaged a few stragglers at F18.

We rearmed and again climbed towards approaching NME high buffs with escorts. This was a well formed attack by the NME. We engaged the buffs but our machine guns were no match for the heavier bombers. Their fighters drove us down and we engaged several fighters. 18 closed as a result of heavy bombing.

We rearmed at F6 and repeatedly tried to ward off several smaller attacks from low 110’s and high buffs with fighter escort. After a long fight, landing and rearming several times, F6 was closed.

Several 4th rearmed at F32.

We vectored down to 7,6X area as NME was reportedly hitting our shipping. When we arrived on scene, the NME was hitting our southern Dar eventually closing Dar at 89. We shot down a buff or two, and with reports of NME massing in the channel, and Buffs returning to hit F1, we sent one pilot to cover the Dar at 78 and had the remaining 4th vector back to F1.

At F1, we engaged high 109s and eventually killed a low 110 that was trying to get into F1.

After patrolling the area around F1 at the end of the frame we stood down.

I believe the 4th had more kills than killed this frame, one getting 4 kills while not being shot down and several others getting multiple kills.

Thanks to Kacey and the rest of the new S3 team for their hard work and to beaver for COing the frame!

Nooky:
Being the first frame, we were a bit unsure how it would turn out. The numbers were pretty close and I fully expected to see all of you very high over 18/6 and you were right there in force. Great job through the night.
