-= AAR =- <S> The 4th FG took off from F19 East Church and climbed until RAF radar spotted incoming LW raids. We fought hard and lost several pilots while also downing several Luftwaffe fighters and bombers. Most importantly it seems we managed to limit the destruction on Dover enough for the Docks to be operational for the coming week of fighting. During the night our pilots kept engaging their Messerchmitts and bombers, and pilot "Doobym" stood out this day, downing 5 enemy airplanes.
Lessons for upcoming battles: * The Luftwaffe seems to send Messerschmitts early to drag us in and get our fighters to low altitude and low ammo for when the Heinkels arrive. Suggest we simply keep away from them and keep climbing until the bombers are spotted as incoming on DAR. Once we attack we could have one squad in Spitfires to engage the Bf 109's, while our other squads go direct for the bombers and then join the fight against their Messerschmitts once the bombers are neutralised. * If we send Wellingtons we need to also send escorts, or our brave bomber crews will see many empty beds in their barracks by nightfall. * Our squads seem to support eachother fairly well so let's keep that up! -= END AAR =-
