With our own GCI, 4th launched from F172 with heavy 38s. Hit F122 closing half but losing 3 pilots to ground fire and intercepts while retreating. 2 sent in Spits to cover DRs high.

2nd sortie launched from F172 for RZ with bombers joining up over F203 and providing support for action over F142-146 area. Bomber stream intercepted by 352 SW of the target area with several 4th and DR loses. We found the P-38 to be very delicate with several one-ping kills taking out the entire rear half of the aircraft. In our experience, something was not set correctly. Also noted that it might be a good idea for BUFFs to approach NOE then climb to bomb since LW DAR coverage allowed them easy intercepts.

4th pilots RTB to F188 and F172. The 4th launched again (3rd sortie) from F172 and 188 NOE to target F122. Closed 122s then continued on to F120 but were heavily engaged, RTBed to F172 with several loses.

4th closed out Frame with four sorties from 188 NOE to hit F144. 4th pilots retreated during the last sortie due to overwhelming odds from enemy interceptions. All four 4th pilots landed safely at F188 and standing down due to ground attack time restriction. Started frame with 13 and lost all but 5 pilots.
