Field capture - The roads are dark lines and the orange lines are elevation? I kind wonder about field capture after reading Split''s post. If the Allies close a location and at the end of the frame it is connected to an open Allied field via road it is captured? If that Allied location was closed, both would be closed for the rest of the game until an Allied location was linked via road to the closed Allied location, could the Italians recapture the location we closed by connecting to it or is it closed until the Allies get connected via road? Which is correct? If we close a field that is not connected to an Allied location, is it closed until we get an Allied location next to via road, even if it is connected via road to Axis locations? |

Something I've been pondering as well: Say we close 2 locations ( I hate saying fields when they aren't ) on the same road. From what I understand, the result at end of frame would be the first location down the road from an open friendly location would be captured but the second one further down the road wouldn't. The second would turn friendly at next frame's end unless they closed the previously captured location. Made that as short and understandable as possible...I hope! Is the correct???? |

I should clarify that if you have more than one closed field they do not nullify each other. So if you close two locations and they lead back to an open allied location both are then captured for next frame. The roadrail net are the light and dark brown lines on the map. Some locations are pretty close to each other and a judgement call has to be made if they are linked via roadway etc. Lots of options but if you let the enemy come back late in the frame and close a key friendly location it will be all for nothing. Orange lines are Italian states and indicate which bridges that are linked to each states railway marshaling yard location. So if you are going to close and capture that important location you need all the bridges in that state down as well. Those are tough ones. You guys are right but I will adjust to indicate that you can string a series of closed locations together to an open allied field. |

There is nothing in the rules about railway bridges. |

All bridges are associated with either a Marshaling Yard (MY) or a Supply Depot (SD). Some bridges have ack near them, also associated with the parent MY/SD. Field #, Province name, bridges Inside Allied lines F175 SD Ragusa: 4 bridges F190 MY: Siracusa: 5 bridges: two on the axis side near F143, don't waste ammo/bombs on them! Bridge west 143 has a friendly 40mm F117 MY: Enna: 4 bridges F129 MY: Catania: 5 bridges Inside Axis Lines F100 MY Agrigento: 5 bridges, one of which is inside allied controlled territory at the start of the frame (near F161). F107 MY Caltanissetta: 3 bridges, all relatively close to to F107 F20 MY Eastern Messina: 7 bridges F63 MY Western Messina: 5 bridges F60 MY Eastern Palermo: 4 bridges F53 SD Western Trapani: 4 bridges F40 SD Eastern Trepani: 4 bridges F56 SD: Western Palermo: 5 bridges |
