first off, thanks to everyone that showed up! everyone did great, I dont think we could have done anything better. We tried something different this frame. tried a good old fashion "Big Wing" EOT style with little buffs. Only issue at all was the B25 must stay on WEP1 continually at 20K'. That caused a little separation of the buffs with no way to close the gap. Oh well, I believe it still worked great. We had a great showing for buffs with the DR in big numbers and with the 8th flying with us. Thanks everyone. Sortie #1 (as I remember) the buff group made it to the RP (on time I think) and found all the fighters waiting ready to go so passed straight through to target. We almost immediately came on DAR so waited for the AX to come and play. At about Hack 15, the Buffs started to get con calls on our few trailing buffs, again sorry we couldn't slow down to form up. The escorts started to engage and the B25 guns started to get kills (nice thing to see). I believe for too long the fighters could just sit on a buffs six and ping away, that is deadly this series. We lost 1 real buff and a couple AI but the escort swatted the bad guys away. As we approached drop point, we were attacked by the 352, and I was PK'd by Vulch just after releasing my bombs. The rest of the buffs pounded the area and we killed 10 ships and a lot of port structures. Great Job! As the buffs headed west to F17, the escort did a great job of covering the RTB. Sortie #2 We had a lot of time so were in no big hurry. Waited for all the fighters to RTB then upped. Started to head to RP but realized that most of the fighters RTB'd farther north than I expected so headed straight west to climb as the fighters climbed south. As it is it worked out better. the buffs were at 20K by the time we hit the RP. Again, all the escort was waiting for us. As we headed to the splitting point, we had a couple of buffs that were running behind so they were with us but much lower. As we hit the Hack 20 point, we started to get con call from high AX. The escort and B25 guns did a great job of protecting the group but I think one or two of our low guys didnt fair so well and were killed. This turned out to be a blessing as they used there second life to go back to 58/61 and clean up shipping! Thanks whoever that was. I believe we ended up sinking 16 of the 18 boats up there. The buffs approached the split and by this time the AX was off re-climbing to engage so we had a little breather to the target. The NS and 8th headed to 115 and pounded the 2 subpens there and destroyed them, the DR went to 110 and sunk all 6 boats! As we headed west, the 8th didn't have the DTF and so headed straight to F17 which proved to be a bad idea as bothe Weis and WLDBill were dispatched out by themselves. I believe these were the only losses on the long trip home. The escort continued to kill bad guys and by the time the buffs landed there was only 1 gold in the air. It was a real fun night for us strike/buff guys! having escort the entire way to and from targets make the night more enjoyable. Again thanks all! thanks for letting me lead. (one of the few frames I didn't kill everyone) |

Great Job Muskyz! (forgot how much easier it is with a DTF) DTFs are not compatable with the new Buff log in so it's been a while since we've used one Big thanks to all those who took responsibilities off from the CO and let him make larger scale decisions while others handled the more routine stuff. Big <S> to Darryl who was busy "herding cats" (no offense meant) Was a lot of fun to fly with all the buffs together on teamspeak.. Wild Bill & Weis added a lot to the mundane flight to target. as Muskyz pointed out it was very difficult to hold station in the B-25 as anything below wep1 and the plane would fall from the sky. Well done all! |

Yes! I should have mentioned that. I had a lot of help from everyone! I had great support from Cool, yelling out positions, Darryl working with his guys and Gundoc. Thanks to all the Fighter leads and ground support. always invaluable and often overlooked! |

You did great MuskieZZ! A picture perfect plan with massed bombers and fighters. That DTF was a real help. Listen to the radio chatter in Jlordj's video as well as the typed comments on Gold channel. They were taken aback by the massed bombers and aggressive escort as well as the positioning of all elements. Nice job indeed! S! Crommm American Eagles |
