4th FG AAR 5/8/2017 - S3#104 - Special Operations France - Spring 1944

Pilots: bombr bwild doobym jedic kaceyj -navy- nookyb omega- pcalex robert ruidoc tebird victim grilem

Sortie 1:

A total of 14 pilots from the 4th FG launched at T+0 from F4 to intercept the Allied bomber force at RP1. One
pilot discoed and launched 12 minutes later catching the Allied a/c on their RTB. During the initial inbound attack
route, the bomber stream was meet with heavy opposition of e/a that continued thru exiting the target area and
for 15 miles after feet wet on egressing the attacked target. The 4th FG and AEs provided constant support throughout
the mission. The 4th downed 2 e/a while losing 3 pilots to enemy action. The 4th landed a different fields due to
various reasons all completing this mission by recovering at F29 for sortie 2.

Sortie 2:

After some bit of confusion the 4th launched 11 pilots from F29 to intercept the 2nd sortie bomber stream at RP2.
Similar to Sortie 1 one pilot had TO problems, requesting and being granted a 2nd life was lost to e/a while trying
to join the 4th FG. As the bomber stream broke into two attacked routes, the 4th provide support and cover for the
S route. Both fighter groups 4th/AEs provided strong support to the Allied bomber stream while it attacked and
exited the 2nd attack areas F110/F115. Upon completing the attack of F110 the 4th along with the bomber stream
it was covering RTB to home fields without any loses.

RESULTS: 4 AC LOST 3 E/A DOWNED

You guys did awesome! Thanks so much for the great escorting!

I should have made a few more notes on the DTF, sorry. Should have noted sortie #1 and sortie #2, got lazy.

Love seeing our little friends when we are puttsing along at 150mph. Just worked out well.

Hopefully the S6 will show good results.

p.s. on a side note, Sorry Omega for thinking you were AE when you came on TS at the end of the frame, oops. I suck at names and keeping the squads straight.
