Salute!
Nomads had Gundoc and Gums.
Hit assigned tgt at 100 and cleaned it up. We had not asked for close escort, but did announce our route on country channel and gave posreps. I think the buffs figured that hitting different tgts and staying low until feet dry was enuf to spread out the LW and let us get in without a lotta pesky defense. Since the lites do not like staying low, they would be big markers on LW DAR about our location. The bad guys cannot hit us if they are at 30K and we are skimming the waves. Duhhhh.
We were hit as we went feet dry and climbing thru 3 or 4K and greening up. Between otto and manual gunning we got more of them than they got us. In fact, both Nomads survived and dropped on the DAR at F100 and nailed it. Gums was hit bad upon egress by a golden ack BB - Pk. Gundoc proceded to F137 but had trouble finding the rail cars and LW finally nailed him. Between us we may have shot down 4 LW attackers.
Tried to finish second assigned tgt after re-upping but Gums had a kybd problem or input mapper problem and lost the "map" function, possibly all the "function key" inputs. No matter. LW found us as we approached the coast and killed both of us. ++++++++ If we are to keep trying NOE, then the lites have to be down with us really low or be high and sweep first, then drop down as we are at our IP. The medium alt profile that was historical involves 8,000 to 15,000 feet attacks, and escorts would have to be close to be of any value.
As Bomber notes, better coordination is required. Secondly, having three separate strikes is prolly good, but maybe two would work better - NS and Nomads for one, and DR for other. I dunno.

Salute!
TY, Bomber.
I'll address the young member's advice from another thread later.
It must be remembered that the 4th and the 305th were the first dedicated buff and escort team in Warbirds, and this goes back to 1997 or so. Wednesday night squad session was a hoot, and soon the Red Raiders and some Frog outfits joined in.
The goal back then was to get fields and factories and such closed. It was not to get kills by the Little Friends.
+++++++
Not sure how to get help from the lites if we keep going in low, and going in at medium altitude is a tuff nut to crack for our Little Friends if all they are concerned with is their own life. Sounds harsh, but some lite comments keep ringing in my old brain.
Back to planning, and we Allies can make this a great series.
