Noticed something on my machine last night. The two revetments at the field did not render (i.e. show up) until I was flying under ~3050ft. Made dive bombing a bit tricky to say the least. I reproduced the issue online in the S3 arena this morning (~1000hrsEST). Offline same issue. I also noted bomb craters were not rendering inside the airfield area. It seems like the runway texture is suspended a few inches above the surrounding terrain elevation.
I had a quick check of the other UK fields and didn't notice a problem elsewhere. Could someone please independently confirm my findings?

Yup. Seems like F6 is the only one that has that kind of a dirt terrain. Almost everything else is grass or paved. You can simply reproduce the issue by looking at the field in the tower and then use the zoom to see the hangers appear and disappear

Certainly not an illusion.

Once upon a time, the terraformers discovered that it was helpful to place the bottom of the building "footings" at some "minus" elevation rather than just plopping objects down on the terrain. Objects which looked just fine in plan view, when seen from ground level had portions of the buildings well above the terrain, particularly when on sloping or hilly grade. I have screenies of hillside concrete bunkers and and other buildings which only had about 1/2 of their footings in the ground, the other half "floating" above the ground. Cantilever construction is possible, but expensive, and certainly was not what was intended. There are likely still examples which can be found, but to the terraformers' credit, the problem was "fixed" by lowering the buildings. I'd doubt that any newer terrain would continue to show similar examples.

"Fixed" Condition. The whole tent is there, the appropriate parts are just below grade.

Shown is the actual condition of the revetments at F-6. The first screenie was grabbed from "below grade" not AT grade as is the above. These revetments are actually well sunken into the surrounding terrain. The characterization that there is a "bug" is likely appropriate.

If you put a runway like F6 on a terrain that is not completely flat it will float over the uneven parts and hide anything beneath it as it renders. This changes as the distance changes. The only way to fix that is to flatten the terrain heightfield or move the field slightly so it lies on completely flat areas. It would be nice to redo the 1940 era Channel using a new terrain fields etc. On the list. Hmmm I wonder where I could find someone that has all the info about airfields and targets in this area... Hmmmmmm

In that caseF6 should be ruled closed as RCAF+8th bombed it 4 times, bunkers hiding undergroud are hard to bomb!
