The Group had two missions for the Frame. In the early minutes, we were tasked with patrolling the front to interdict possible incoming attacks to our airfields and bridges. The second task was to RDV with the buff group coming from England, and to clear their path to the planned targets. The patrol sortie turned up a few "singles" coming across the front and engagements were limited. We returned to our base, and took off to join the buffs on their ingress. Some of our aircraft did not have enough fuel capacity to fly the "European Loop" and took vectors to "sweep" in front of the buff flight so that they could be of some usefulness. And, useful they were. Our P-38L flight found and engaged the enemy on several occasions. Supplemented by our P-51D flights, enemy aircraft were found and engaged all along the buffs' route of flight. We only lost one aircraft, and that was to the AAA while chasing the bad guys just a bit too low over one of their fields. Pilots Vulche, and =Dobs= were each able to kill a Me 262. Pilot JLordJ was able to avoid the heavy AAA and managed to take down the last two remaining huts and close F-72 following an otherwise very nice buff run on that field. A suggestion for future Frame Commanders is to consider the endurance of your fighter escorts when planning the buff routes. The WarBirds P-51 has amazing endurance, but as various FGs proceed with flying their "alternate" aircraft in the remaining Frames, the ability of the fighters to cover the buffs while over Injun Country needs to be a planning factor. In Frame 3, our Group will operate 100% P-51 aircraft, it the final two Frames, we will have "mixed" flights of aircraft.

DEWOLF:
The 352nd did an outstanding job, last Sunday. Racking up all those kills and assists helped advance the cause of the Allies. The buff protection was tough, but you fellas got it done. As always, thanks for your input prior to the last two frames.

Thanks again! <S>
