S3 #101 Frame 5 AAR

Sortie 1:

Launched 3 groups of strike AC Red, White and Blue of 4 Hurries with 2-250lb bombs. Sent Red flight
due west and climbing as a diversionary flight with Blue and White headed to F48 NOE. Two pilots
did not defuse had to drop ordinance, land reset and launch while their lead circled. In addition 1 pilot
discoed and 1 had a stick failure. Both re-initiated and launched.

White and Blue flights continued NOE to F48 with the two re-launched pilots following. As the sortie
Continued Tapss had another stick failure and left the S3. Tbird continued to F48 in trail of
his flight. Red flight continued to climb to an approximate altitude of 25K and then turned toward F48.

Once Blue and White flight reached F48 then continued S along the 5 line to intercept the road out of F9
turning NW and following the main road out of F9 intercepting Tanks in the suspect area. While Red
flight provided Cap Blue and White flight continued to search and attack GVs along the road. Red flight
started descending to continue attacking ground target when the Frame CO requested help for 352 in the
Bardia area. GCI had Red flight to initiate their climb turning N to the requested help area and dropping
their ordnance.

Blue and White completed their attacks with the loss of two pilots and started to the Bardia area when GCI
order them RTB. Red flight could not get to 352 in a timely fashion and faced with superior odds was order
to land at F62 for re-arming. During this Sortie Ruidoc got separated and crashed (Web link failure) at F62.

Sortie 2:

Sent all remaining pilots back to F48 and patrolled the same road taking out additional GVs and then
continued scouting along the road to a point about half way west of F9 where additional
vehicles were interdicted. Took out 5 additional GVs and then had the group return to bases as time
prevented destroying further GVs. Tbird provided excellent direction for target acquisition.
All remaining AC returned to F62
