AAR

The first wing off the deck for the Group were our CAP fighters. With 6 CAP aircraft, and a whole lot of Ocean to cover within a 60 mile radius of the home boat, that flight was kept moving around quite a bit as radar range is rather limited. The Scout aircraft seemed to do their jobs admirably and a enemy Kaga was sited allowing all available aircraft to be launched. Just about launch time an armed enemy scout flight was spotted by the various carrier's hay-rake equipment and the fight was on for the rest of the Frame.
Generally speaking the whole Allied Attack Plan was assembled literally "on the fly". All elements of the Allied Force were putting out accurate position reports on enemy ships. Responding fighters and fighter/bombers were able fly "direct" to the called targets with the cooperation of the fighter squads in the area of an assembling Allied Strike. The Strike TBF and SBD wing managed a one Squad claim of THREE KAGAS!
The enemy had several types of aircraft bringing the fight to the Allied fleet. The Group encountered most of them over the course of the Frame.
The Frame was less interesting toward the end of the Frame as the Allied guys in the Navy equipment had pretty much managed to severely limit enemy ability to put up a fight.
Notable was the excellent coordination that was going on among the various Squads that really solidified the Allied position during the Frame.
