Gents:

The Allies need a volunteer for Frame 1 CO duties. Don't be shy.
Basically, until one of the (4) enemy CVs is located, only (12) aircraft can be in flight for our side. The starting location and course for our Carrier Task Force needs to be determined.

8. Scouts - at T+0 each side may launch 1 step of scout aircraft. This includes Kate, Val, G4M1 for the IJN and TBD, TBF,SBD and B25C for the USN. They may carry ord and conduct attacks against shipping.

9. CAP - at T+0 each side may launch 1 step of fighter aircraft. This includes the A6M2 for the IJN and the F4F3 or F4F4 for the USN. Until a strike is launched they must remain within 60 miles of their Task Force.

Basic setup for scouts would be a search grid. Scouts should take AI wingmen and us the CA login. Ord or no ord the frame CO decides. CAP has to stay near the CV task force within 60 miles.
Wait for the CM to announce a CV sighting and then launch remaining aircraft for first strike.

This is what I think the scout search grid should be. By T+60 the enemy CF cannot be beyond the outer purple line.

Inner line is 30 mile radius around the top left of the red box.

If Bombers want to sketch out your planned route I'd be happy to make a DTF of it.

You can have this inflight by copying the DTF file

Added a clarification to the rules. Land bases can only be attacked in Frame 3 which features the Midway terrain. No land bases may be attacked in the Solomons terrain(Frames 1-2,4-5). This is a naval event.

Frame CO needs to indicate starting point of the Carrier Task Force and hdg. There can be one course correction planned before the frame begins and must be included in the route planning.

Thanks Sir but it was not meant to be a plan :-) It's simply an observation that if the enemy CV starts anywhere in the red box and travels 30mph for an hour in any direction,
they cannot go beyond the outer purple line.

The inner line is worst case scenario, it is possible to start at 4,12,5 for example and travel 270ยบ. which would put them to the norther western limits of the play area.

352nd Fighter Group CO, Juice=, has volunteered one step of carrier-based fighters to perform Fleet CAP. If no objections are noted, that flight will launch at T=0.

I will post a CV task force hdg after 3 PM eastern so squad COs may plan. Hopefully someone steps up to command before then.

Please check the CA login as I am having problems with it at the moment. Email sent to Dan to check.

Question,
Can scouts be launched from CV's or only the "Sea Bases"? cant find in the rules anywhere.

Jabo:
Please start the Allied CBG at the 11, 10 X and sail it 270 degrees for two hours, then turn it to 135 degrees for the duration. (Allied consensus route)
