The 4th started with 14 (2 extras) in the Pony and TO at TO+30 to RZ at 9,5,2. Shortly after RZ we engaged the first RJN fighters and stayed engaged off and on through the target until just after the post target turn south. We half the forth with two of us dropping to the deck and making it back to Iwo while the remainder headed to CAP out CVs 5&6 as requested, but killed as many RJN. Not a bad frame but a couple comments. First, why do we continue to fly scenarios with aircraft models that are unfinished or don't work properly? A lot of work has gone into fixing the WB flight models but all that work is wasted when we intentionally fly stuff that isn't right, i.e. the B-29 AI is attrocious and doesn't engage the enemy, also the B-29 flew considerably higher (when they chose to) than they could reach last night because they came from GUAM so had the distance to climb even with max fuel, an airstart would have helped, also we found too late that despite massive testing the P-51 flight model is porked and it couldn't make it to its max service sealing which gave away the altitude advantage to the RJN which NEVER happened in the real engagements. Hopefully those problems will be fixed before the next frame. Despite all that we enjoyed it.
