First, thanks to Dobs for his input with regard to the fighters. It's been a while, but when I CO'd two years ago, I used to select the targets and the CO's of the fighters suggested how they could defend us. Everyone did what they do best. Perhaps, we will go back to that method of planning for frame three.
All the fighters worked hard to protect the bombers. While it took us two sorties to do it with the number of bombers we had, we closed F79 and F78. They closed F86. I didn't see them close any other airfields. We tried to mount a quick strike into F113 and F115 to pick up additional destroyed targets, but their remaining fighters blocked us from getting in, so we landed at F89.
We are experiencing great difficulty in getting our two Ai to form up and stay up with us. Some seem to have a mind of their own. In our testing, we thought we had them straight, but we still had troubles getting them to stay with us. Is there a reason for this?
