Flying IL2s out of F190 up north we were to hit shipping and assist with the closure of a coastal artillery site.
-NOE approach to ships allowed us to get in and sink 3 freighters up north west. -Darryl called off strike of coastal arty site. -Houndg took damage to tail... had to rtb for repairs
the rest of us went to hit ships down south. we found more freighters and sank 3 more. - helped to hit a coastal arty down south, farout had bombs and took a couple things out but coolon got hit in the oil pan and eventually crashed.
NS then found some more ships but the aa from hitting the coastal arty and the aa from the ships took farout down out too.
This left Hobo who went up north with Gums and took on some panzers up there. there were complaints of 37mm innefectiveness as all ammo used on one tank did not result in a kill. Gums and Hobo then went to help DR close a truck park. after many many strafing runs the ammo box finally went down and the field closed. hobo was found by the angry swarm of 109s, though he twisted and turned (even getting a manuver kill) they finally took off his elevator and so hobo joined the rest of his Nightstalker brothers in the big sleep.
we did find that the 23mm cannon was much more effective vs ships (more ammo too) results of the 37mm were not immediately apparent and probably led to too many rounds being used. Tanks were way too tough to even attempt to try..wasted mission
totals: 6 freighters damage to a coastal battery down south help in destruction of F122

Salute!
Yeah, was a pleasure to fly with Hobo. And he has a better video display or some secret tank detector, as he found the critters way before I did.
No luck versus critters, so we pressed west and used up remaining rounds of cannon and guns to help DR.
I never saw the ammo hut go down, but F122 "closed" message appeared as I pulled off tgt and was shortly shot down by a pesky enema lite about 30 seconds later, heh heh.
Gums sends...
