Doolittle Raiders - 2 steps at F2 and 2 Steps at F10. Take the IL2 and head for Sevastapol. While fully loaded (4 rockets and 4 100 KG Bombs) the Pony burned 9 Gallons per 20 miles travelled, with a 189 Gallon tank, your range is 21 grid squares or 420 miles. Plenty of Legs to get to Sevastapol and back. I did this travelling NOE (32') and my speed was 238 mph.

4x 100 KG = 2304 Damage
4x Rockets = 800 Damage
300x 23MM = 7260 Damage

So each aircraft is capable of 10364 Damage.

Sevastapol Has:

12 Wearhouses (WH) - 1500 each - 18,000
5 FacMod (FM) 4500 each - 6,500
3 Fuel (FD) 400 each - 1,200
37 LivMod (LM) 2500 each - 92,500
1 Radar Stn (RS) 1250 each - 1,250
1 Radar Hut (RD) 1600 each - 1,600
13 Wearhouse2 (EF) 2750 each - 35,750
1 Fact Complex(EB) 10000 each - 10,000
---------
166,800

166,800/10,364 = 16.09 so 17 Aircraft if all is perfect. Consider that 17 x 4 x 200 = 13,600 of these damage is from Rockets. I'd say Rocket accuracy is best at 1/4 - so 18 pilots minimum

DR has barely had 12-15 pilots each frame make it to target so far and given the holidays we will perhaps be lesser to start with.

IMHO this is mission impossible if DR are the only group going there.

Thoughts?

BEAVER:
I have already started a thread for frame 5 planning based on GUMS asking me to CO it. Take a look at the ideas/thoughts posted there. I have to agree with NOFLYZ that the Doolittle's Raiders will not be able to do as you requested. Let's work on a different plan, please.

You started your thread an hour and a half after I posted my thread, but if you want to CO, that is fine by me. If you need more aircraft for Sevastapol (I didn't ask you to destroy it, there are tons of points there), you could also take the Nomads.

orders received and understood. Mission success, not very good chances if they send in a 109 fighter sweep ( which they always do) they will be higher by a huge margin, we got crap aircraft, and get pushed down, and out, losing guys and leaving field open at alt for buffs to come in.
We will up, and attempt it however, but we are not going to throw ourselves into a meatgrinder if its not going to change the outcome. We will be wiley, foxey to our best ability however.
The 109 F, we would have a slim chance, but , impossible against the G model. We just need to flat out avoid those airplanes.

I see that now, but I had been working on it for hours before I clicked post. Haha. Anyway, I wasn't taking it away from you, just letting you know why I posted it.

Going to post ideas on the other thread, now.
