If a pilot is listed as KIA after a frame they cannot fly a 1st Line aircraft next frame they fly but must choose a 2nd line aircraft instead.

No, if you death shows up in the buffer, the IJN pilot should get credit for the kill. If you get killed again, then again the IJN pilot should get credit again. At least that is the way I understand it.

OK, the rules are, on the surface, pretty clear about this. I was in a B25H, hit a mast flying over a ship at 100' and crashed but was instantly transferred to my next available wingman. I do not believe that I will come up in any KIA list, in fact the buffer said dronea crashed (or something similar). I then proceeded to kill some more ships then flew home and landed. Are we required to fly second line next frame? How do we know who is suppose to? I feel, with the intent of the rule, I must fly a second line aircraft next frame, and will do so but what is the real response? Also, the IJ are robbed of their KIA of me in the scores. How are we going to compensate? I am trying to find some balance here between the fighter guys and the buff's. I like the new wingmen and really think it helps with the survivability of the Buff pilots but it is robbing some folks of there hard fought kills. If I am "killed" by a IJ, I will just jump to another plane and they get credit for killing a drone. Thoughts Jabo?

That is weird then because it showed Gofly died and then was transferred to his wingman. Ok, I am confused now myself..

could be a matter of how the death occurred... if someone shoots you down it might be different than just overstressing the wing and crashing..?? perhaps?

Very interesting. Did a little testing. So, you can NOT eject from a wounded plane or you die. That was how the 3 B24H kills were recorded. You must go down with the plane (unless it explodes in mid air) in order to transfer to another of your wingmen. Assuming that gofly had available wingmen, If you get PK'd you don't get transferred which makes sense. I believe the transfer occurs when your plan is lost. A PK your plane is still fine. So we need to remember, no bailing. Also, the events where we have B17's over Germany, most of the kills where PK's so the new wingmen will be less effective. Another issue I see from the S6, NONE of the B25 losses showed up on the log. I know with just myself, the IJ should have gotten credit for 2 lost B25's (thats a lot of missed points). How do we handle this? JABO, we really need you to weigh in on this. Regardless of what other struggles are going on, if we are going to keep using these wingmen we need to figure out how to score them.

If the S6 lists you as a death then you fly a 2nd line aircraft only if you were in a first line a\c. It takes it out of the log and we are stuck with how the log scores things.
