The Knights are on sinking ships this time around using B25D's... Orders received.

Here is what I came up with.

Fuel: 100% (Maybe to much.

T+10.25 Alt 10k (we go level)
Dist: 28 miles

Turn to heading 329.
T+29: on target on ships between 61 and 62.

RTB and run like hell...

Just to be SUPER CLEAR....

The B25D is for killing STATIC SHIPS Parked in the harbors. Its 8 .50 cals WILL NOT KILL A MOVING SHIP but WILL KILL A STATIC SHIP.

Yes, its dumb as B25's strafing ships with .50 cal was a very big part of the New Guinea campaign.

The B25H has a 75mm that kills the AI moving ships just fine so they are tasked with killing the CONVOYS

KoN/69th/UMM/Nomads are tasked with the PARKED ships at F60, 61, 23, 28, 24 and 40. They may kill other ground targets if desired. Don't bother trying to strafe a moving ship with .50 cals.

I know about the moving ships. Try dropping a bomb from 10k on a moving ship. We will drop out bombs on the STATIC ships, then dive down and strafe the remaining ones.

Plus looking at your map, you have a differnt heading then the one you posted in your orders.

FINSHAFEN HARBOR STRIKE (KNIGHTS/69TH/NOMADS/UMM)
will delay takeoff until FRAME TIME 15 (FT+15). They will form on a 040 heading with SHIPPING STRIKE, climb to 10,000 and proceed via
described route. Escort for ingress will be provided by Knights and elements of 475FG and 352FG in second line aircraft. FH STRIKE will PRIMARILY TARGET static shipping at F60 and F61. .50 cals on the
B25D will destroy these targets. Other ground targets can be struck but are secondary. After destroying the static shipping, FH Strike will egress 120 escorted by 475FG under clear of radar then, RTB Horand

I ran a test using 050 and did a vor and came up with 329 and you have 303.

Please clarify :?

040 heading from takeoff until 60 miles from Horand (F80) then left turn to 303 heading direct to F60.

Do not turn before you are 60 miles out of Horand or you will arrive too early and spoil the timing. At the turn point, 60 miles from F80 on the 040 degree radial, Finschafen Harbor is 302 degrees and 66 miles away.

Hey Dawger, what load out do you want for the B25H's? Can we sink ships with 500 lbrs or do we need heavier. Straffing with Canon will sink any ships, just need to use sparingly. Also, have some rockets on most loadouts. Are they any good on shipping? We could take 500 pounders and drop on Port 60 then head out over the shopping lanes with guns, rockets and cannon ;)

Beaver, I used 500lbrs from my B25D on static ships and they went boom!

There is a giant convoy in Operation Lost to test against.

I don't know what a 500 lb bomb will do but 1 75mm round takes out a freighter. With 21 rounds, thats a lot of ships.

If I was leading the B25H's I would go Guns only package as 21 cannon shells takes a long time to expend.

Skip bombs is another option if you practice with them.

Testing in OPLOST reveals the following

Bombs are too much trouble to kill ships

The 75MM will be one shot one kill if you shoot VERY close. 100 yards or so

Farther out requires more shells. I guess penetration at long range is weak.

Aim for the center deck house and fire close on the freighters
