These are now the final orders, no changes were needed, but some unclear orders were cleaned up or explained. Thanks to everyone for chipping in. Frame 1 Unit Basing Heavy Bombardment The Knights That Say Ni! / 69th Turnbull Field 105 Nomads Turnbull Field United Mud Movers Gurney Field 103 Strike RCAF Buna Field 82 Night Stalkers Buna Field 82 Pursuit 475 FG Horand Field 80 352 FG Borio Field 81 The Nightstalkers and RCAF 127 wing will strike F42, 475th and 352nd will provide cover. I would suggest fast aircraft, either the P38 or the Mosquito. The Mosquito, being a 2nd line aircraft will score 3x the points for target destruction as the P38. RCAF and NS will strike and then 475FG and 352FG will drop their bombs if they have not encountered opposition After the drop NS and RCAF can rebase at F80 or F72. Second sortie for RCAF and NS in order of priority is F42/F62/F25. 475FG and 352FG will then rendezvous with Bombers for strike on Finschafen (F62) Bombers will strike Finschafen, RTB Horand area then finish F62 or hit F25 if 62 closed Focus is to close F62, F42, and F25 This will split their forces in 2 and allow us to dominate one area at a time. Since we have no GPS (1 min every 15 mins) this should work better for flight planning. Pretty sure his mossies alludes to the dedicated strike aircraft. Escorts should be in 38s....heavy:) Dobs |

Nomads Status, I have not heard from Sir Gums, other than a post he made saying he would have limited internet access for the next few months. Therefore, as for as I know I'll be the only Nomad flying this frame. I have asked Hawk if I could ride alone with the Knights this series. If the Frame CO should have any special mission for me, so be it. (GEE, I have a hard time flying one plane--now I get to jump in the AIs and fly. Now, does that mean I get to fly more planes or do the fighters just have more targets to get points for?) Salute |

Glad to have you Gofly with us again and will email you what I have been working on thus far. So Beaver, our main target is going to me F42, correct? |

Hey beaver, Just a quick observation, F42 is going to be a handful in the Mossie. NS may have 4, probably 3 this 1st frame, if the RCAF have 5 strikers, we just don't have enough bombs. We might be able to strafe some stuff down. Would it be better for the strike to be in B25H's? more bombs and more planes. A lot slower, thats for sure, so may not work with timing. Whatever you want. |

Arawe has 23 targets. If RCAF and NS are in Mossies thats 36 500 lb bombs. 475FG and 352FG will bring an additional 52 1000lb bombs. The chances of the enemy basing heavy strength at 42 to oppose a strike with 35-40 airplanes is fairly remote. If they do have heavy resistance at 42 the Mossies will probably have to abort and the P38's can slug it out. If resistance is light, there should be enough ordnance on hand to close 42, assuming the FG's can hit the ground with bombs. I think we want to avoid strafing if possible. Quick stike by Mossies followed by quick strike by P38's and egress. The P38's do need to get back to the bombers for a rendezvous 80 miles away 20 minutes after the planned strike on 42. I will be drilling the 475FG on dropping bombs this week. |
