Stalkers were tasked with finishing up after bombers airfield strike.
We decided to take the A-36 Apache this frame.

After waiting for 25 minutes with no sign or word if there would even be a bomber strike we decided to roll and hit the port next to the airfield target. Lost one to AA but managed to close the port and sink several static ships there.

Landed at new base 213 and waited for orders. With time running out we decided to roll anyway and decide target in the air. since the field at the top left of the map was so far away we decided to hit the airfield F96 then land at malta.

Initial attacks went well, all aa went down but we lost 2 pilots, one to a severe vertical interlude with the terrain and the other to a freak mechanical shutdown of his engine forcing him to ditch right on the target.

Remaining stalkers bombed and strafed as we could but we ran out of ammunition before the Radar hut/tent went down. we put a lot of holes in it but it was the last target left and stood in defiance of us as we turned and headed for home.

Totals:

1 Port closed
1 airfield heavily damaged but not closed

3 losses

Great job Stalkers, the bombers kind of fouled up so it was not pretty. :(

bombers did great, they did close the airfield.

We close their second target (the port) which kind of left them without targets, sorry.

We were so damn close to closing that air field on Sicily! I pumped a lot of cannon into a "tent" couldn't believe it wouldn't go down. Might have to see if it is one of those indestructible targets that we have seen over the years.

Was a ton of fun strafing the fields and ports.

I know they did a great job in closing an airfield, just comms was fouled up and the escorts were waiting and no buffs arrived.

Salute!

I'll let Nofly report, but he apparently had a problem and Gundoc was a few minutes late. So Gums and Gundoc went as a two-ship and tried to coord. It was too late, but the 23rd and 4th were keeping the enema BZ.

Doc and Gums set up a racetrack to pick off one tgt after another. Finally, Nofly and Gofly showed up and WALLA!!! Not a enema lite to be seen.
